  • ¼ ounce grenadine
  • ¼ ounce orange juice
  • ¼ ounce vodka
  • ¼ ounce club soda
  • 2 drops blue food coloring
  • ⅛  – ¼ ounce Bacardi 151

Pour grenadine into a shot glass, then carefully holding the glass on an angle, slowly pour in orange juice so the two liquids mix a little but not completely.

Using the same technique, add vodka to the shot glass, again being careful that the liquids only mix a little bit and not completely.

In another glass, mix the club soda with the blue food coloring, then add the blue liquid to the shot glass using the same technique as before, allowing the liquids to mix only a little bit and not completely.

Finally, using the same technique, carefully add the Bacardi 151 to the shot glass.

Carefully, with the shot glass flat on a solid table, light the top of the shot on fire with a culinary torch.

Drink and enjoy once the fire is out!

These Decadent Mint Chocolate Smoothies Are Your New Guilty Pleasure

Print Recipe

Everyone loves the Shamrock shake, but the window when you can actually get one seems like it gets shorter every year. Thankfully, you can make a healthier version at home all year round, in case you ever get a craving.

Yes, that’s right, we said these are healthy. They look like a milkshake but these smoothies are full of spinach, Greek yogurt and coconut milk. But of course, there’s enough chocolate to make this recipe a real treat.

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (from a can)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or plain, if you prefer)
  • 1 frozen banana (quartered)
  • 14 frozen spinach cubes
  • 6 large ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Chocolate chips

To make your own spinach cubes, add fresh spinach and water to a blender and finely chop it. Drain the water out in a colander, and pack the spinach into ice cube trays.Once they’re frozen, you can store these in a Ziploc bag in your freezer.

In a blender, add coconut milk,

Greek yogurt,

the frozen banana,

spinach cubes,

ice cubes,

vanilla and peppermint extract,

and honey.

Blend everything together until it’s smooth.

Top with whipped cream and chocolate chips.

It may look too good to be true, but this drink really is healthy. If you want a totally healthy post-workout drink, just leave out the whipped cream and chips at the end.

King Cake Jello Shots Are Like Mardi Gras In A Glass

Print Recipe

Mardi Gras is the liveliest party on the planet, one last big celebration before everyone has to mind their manners during Lent. Of course no party is complete without drinks, and we have just the one to make this year’s carnival special.

King cake is a traditional Mardi Gras dessert famous for being topped with colored sugar. This drink recreates the fun of that classic dish with a grown-up twist. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

  • 12 shot glasses
  • 1  3/4 cups of lemonade
  • 4 packets of plain gelatin
  • 1  1/4 cups of cake-flavored vodka
  • 2  teaspoons of sweetened condensed milk (or more for a sweeter taste)
  • Decorating sugar in purple, yellow and green.
  • Liquid food coloring in green, yellow and neon purple.
  • 1 tube of vanilla frosting
  • Edible silver sprinkles and candy (optional)

Dip the rim of each glass into the vanilla frosting, then cover 1/3 of the frosting in purple sugar, 1/3 in yellow and 1/3 in green.

In a saucepan, pour in the lemonade, then the gelatin. Let this mixture soak over low heat while you stir until the gelatin dissolves.

Take the mixture off of the element and whisk in the cake vodka and condensed milk.

Divide this mixture into three bowls (you should have about 1 cup in each bowl) then add 4 drops of the food coloring to make the 3 colors.

Add a tablespoon of the purple gelatin to each shot glass, then refrigerate for 20 minutes. The mixture should have the sticky, Jello consistency when you take it out of the fridge.

Add the yellow gelatin, refrigerate again, and finally top with the green gelatin. Keep the completed drinks in the fridge for at least 2 hours so everything sets.

Between each of the layers you can add some little edible sprinkles, or hide a gummy candy inside one layer for a fun surprise.

Remember, Mardi Gras is all about connecting with other people, so make sure you invite a few friends over to share these tasty drinks with!

5 Things To Do With Beer Besides Drink It

Beer has long been a favorite of party-goers, gods, monks and poets. As far back as 3,500 BC, beer was being produced in the country known today as Iran. Ancient poems from Mesopotamia (Iraq) praise Ninkasi, the patron goddess of brewing.

Fast forward to today, when beer is the preferred alcoholic beverage in North America. If you love beer, then pour yourself a pint and reserve a bottle for these five other ways to use the bubbly brew.

1. Polish Your Pots

Before we had synthetic polishing agents, beer was used to clean tarnished copper vats in breweries. You can still use today’s brews to boost the shine in your pots. Sip while you scrub!

2. Marinate Your Meat

If you aren’t already doing this, stop everything and buy a steak. Before you light up the barbecue or oven, blend up a tasty beer-based marinade for juicy chicken, steak or ribs.

3. Remove Wine Stains

Yes, it’s true, beer saves the day when it comes to red wine and your party dress. Just wet a cloth with some ‘brewski’ and dab at the stain to lift it out. Then, toss your dress/pants/shirt into the wash to get rid of the liquid and the smell.

4. Softens Soles of Feet

If you’ve got rough, tough skin on your heels and the sides of your feet, try soaking them in a basin of beer. If you’re not worried about wasting that liquid courage on your feet, give them a soak. The yeast will soften the skin and the alcohol is a natural antiseptic/antibacterial agent.

5. Revive Your Furniture

If the wood stain on your dining room table is beginning to fade, rub the life back into it with a microfiber cloth and some flat beer.

A New Drink Finally Combines Red Wine And Coffee

Whether you like to start your morning with a cup of coffee or a glass of red, we have good news for you!

There have been concoctions and experiments before that combined wine and coffee, but a company from California has changed the game by finally introducing coffee infused with red wine.

Molinari Private Reserve brews their coffee in a bath of Napa Valley red wine, and while there’s no alcohol content once the coffee’s packaged the company says you can definitely taste the wine.

Molinari Private Reserve

There’s no need for any special brewing method, although Molinari recommends using a French press instead of a regular coffee maker.

You can enjoy the coffee any way you like, black, frozen or blended. Supposedly, the more milk you add the more of the “robust,” blueberry-flavored wine you’ll taste.

Molinari Private Reserve

There is a catch, of course. Trying this ground-breaking product will cost you $20 for a half-pound bag. If you’re willing to pay that much the coffee will be on sale in a handful of wine stores and online, but it’s sold out at the moment.

One Of The World’s Best Wines Is On Sale At Walmart For Just $7

If you love red wine and a good bargain you’re in luck, because there’s a fantastic deal at your local big box store.

Decanter magazine has been reviewing the world’s best wines since 1975, so they know a thing or two about what makes wine great. Since 2004 they’ve organized the World Wine Awards, where over 200 world-class experts use blind taste tests to pick the world’s best wines.

One of last year’s big winners was La Moneda Reserva’s Malbec, which beat 16,000 other wines to be named Platinum Best in Show. Unbelievably, this award-winning drink costs just $7 a bottle at Walmarts across America.

The Chilean wine was already a hit in Britain where it was sold at Asda grocery stores, but it has finally found its way to North America.

It will be available at more than 500 stores nationwide but you should get a bottle now, because it will only be on sale for a limited time.

La Moneda Reserva describes the wine as a mix of plum, fig and berry flavors combined with the taste of vanilla yogurt for a velvety smooth taste.

The Wine Curmudgeon

While you may not think of red wine and Walmart together, this drink pairs great with the discount store.

The wine’s flavors are supposed to complement the taste of dark chocolate and barbecue, both of which you can get at the store.

Blue Wine Is Soon Coming To A Store Near You

While we’re still reeling from the hype surrounding the Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino, another drink company is hoping to inspire the same shock and awe with its newest product.

Gik, a Spanish startup specializing in wine announced that its popular blue wine will soon be hitting shelves in the U.S.

Yep, that’s right. Blue wine is officially going to be a thing. You’re probably wondering “why?”

Well according to the website you should really be asking “why not?”

“Gïk is born for fun. To shake things up a little and see what happens. To create something new. Something different.”

As with most stunt foods, the vibrant drink took social media by storm when it was first launched in Spain. It has since gained enough popularity to make its way across the ocean and over to America.

The 11.5 alcohol content wine was developed in collaboration with food researchers at the University of the Basque Country and Azti Tecnecalia. It lists both spanish red and white grapes, anthocyanin (pigment found in grape skin), a non-caloric sweetener and indigo dye as ingredients.

According to the Gik Blue creators, the electric color was chosen because it represents “movement, innovation and infinity” that will help us move away from wine’s traditional associations and redefine our drinking experience.

“Drinking Gïk is not just about drinking blue wine; you are drinking innovation. You are drinking creation.”

You can be one of the first to take a sip of this new wine when it launches this October by placing a pre-order. Bottles will retail at $16 each but you can enjoy a discount when you purchase two or more.

Will you be trying Gik blue wine? Let us know!

Coca Cola’s Newest Soda Will Send You To The Bathroom

It seems like Coca Cola is always coming out with a new and improved version of everyone’s favorite soda. Whether they are reducing the calories or caffeine or adding a flavor, there is something for everyone.

Their newest addition to the popular beverage is deemed to make it the brand’s healthiest soda yet.

“We’re looking to add functional beverages,” CEO James Quincy said on a call with media on Tuesday. The company is rolling out Coca-Cola Plus and Canada Dry Plus as part of a “fast-growing segment where ingredients are added to beverages to address specific dietary needs.”

Coca Cola

Coca-Cola Plus, is a sugar and calorie free soda with 5 added grams of dietary fiber.

This new drink hit the Japanese market back in February as part of the company’s mission to add more “functional beverages” to their lineup. Apparently that means bodily functions, as well.

In addition to the added fiber, the company claims that “Drinking one Coca-Cola Plus per day with food will help suppress fat absorption and help moderate the levels of triglycerides in the blood after eating.”

The company reportedly spent more than a decade researching and developing the drink.

To help stand out on the shelves, the company chose a white bottle with a Coca-Cola red cap.

“We chose white as the base color of the packaging so consumers will instantly recognize that it has new features never before seen in a Coca-Cola product,” Dr. Machiels added.

Keep Your Eye Out – Dunkin’ Donuts Is Giving Away Free Frozen Coffee

Days are getting longer and warmer, and none of us want to give up our coffee come the summer months. What if you can’t handle a steaming cuppa when the heat is already stifling?

Dunkin’ Donuts to the rescue! The popular coffee chain has a ton of cool caffeinated options for you to enjoy. You can go for a classic ice coffee, or try their brand new summer beverage for 2017: Frozen Coffee.

The new drink is replacing the current Coffee Coolatta, which is a mocha beverage heavy on the cream, calories, and sugar. Dunkin’ Donuts Frozen Coffee is a healthier option for those wishing to cut the calories.

Extra Crispy

While not everyone was happy about the replacement, Frozen Coffee is part of a movement towards more classic beverages. Instead of the milkshake-like Coolatta, Frozen Coffee is made with a lot of ice and blended into a “coffee slushie.” For added flavor, you can order a shot of caramel, french vanilla, hazelnut, or mocha. If you want an unsweetened option, you can choose toasted almond, coconut, blueberry, or raspberry.

Spoon University

“This is the frozen beverage for people who love coffee,” said a Dunkin’ representative. “With Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee, we’ve captured the same taste and quality that millions of Dunkin’ Donuts guests enjoy each day, now blended frozen.”

Curious? You’re in luck, because Dunkin’ Donuts has just announced a FREE Frozen Coffee Day!

Although the new drink is available on May 1st, participating locations will be offering free Frozen Coffee on May 19, 2017 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. No coupon required! Just show up and ask for your free coffee.

Use This Chart To Help You Choose The Perfect Wine Every Time

Finding the perfect marriage between wine and food can be tricky.

Finding the perfect pairing isn’t always easy, there are so many flavors and options to consider, it’s hard to know which is best, a process that can easily go from enjoyable to stressful.

We’re all familiar with the basic rules – white wine pairs well with chicken and seafood while red goes with red meat but in all honesty, it doesn’t have to be that way.

You are allowed to break the rules and follow your intuition when it comes to pairing wine and food. Having seafood for dinner? Try a light red instead, it’ll surprise you how well they complement each other.

Thanks to wine enthusiasts at Wine Folly you don’t have to be a sommelier to know what combination works. They have created an awesome color-coded pairing chart that you can use as a guideline.

You can save it on your phone, stick it on your fridge or order a book finish print to frame for your kitchen or dining room.

We Can’t Decide If Pepsi’s New Flavor Is A Good Idea – You Be The Judge

Summer is on its way, and a lot of cool new products are hitting grocery store shelves. From new Oreo flavors to Bob Marley-inspired ice cream, you’re bound to find something that’ll become your new fave. But first, are you team Coca-Cola or team Pepsi?

If you love Pepsi, you’ll probably have a lot to say about the new limited-edition flavor coming to stores nationwide this summer. After releasing a hot new Slurpee flavor at select 7-Eleven locations earlier, Pepsi has made the flavor into a soda, and we’re not too sure how we feel about it.

In the past, Pepsi has challenged Coca-Cola with its lime, vanilla, and blue Hawaii flavors, but is their new one taking it a bit too far? You be the judge.

Food Instagrammer Eric Koenreich gave the slushie version 5 out of 10 stars, and other people are giving the drink a bad rep on social media, saying it’s “gross” and “#toolit.”

“I’ve had a lot of bad memories with Fireball Whisky,” Eric said. “And unfortunately this tastes very similar to Fireball Whisky, albeit without the booze. It’s not something I want to drink sober, anyways.”

Pepsi flavors in JapanPinterest/Japanese Kat

Continue to the next page to find out what the fuss is about.

PepsiCo is making Pepsi Fire a thing, and we imagine the soda tastes like something between cinnamon and Red Hot Tamale. For some people, it sounds like heartburn in a can.

Like it or not, cans and bottles of the stuff are coming to store shelves near you. Cans and bottles of the blistering beverage have already been spotted and they’re likely to be around until the end of June 2017.

Pepsi is calling their new cinnamon-flavored soda the “hottest drink of summer,” and I’m sure you’ve got something to say about that.

It’s fine. You’re on fire. I’m on fire. We’re all on fire.

Let us know if you’d drink this! SHARE with your friends to see what they think.
