This America’s Got Talent Judge Just Quit

Attention fans of America’s Got Talent: the upcoming season is going to be missing someone pretty important.

Host and tie-breaking judge, Nick Cannon, has announced he’s leaving the reality show, effective immediately.

The move seems like a preemptive strike against NBC, after they considered firing Cannon over a racial joke in a recent stand-up special that aired on Showtime. The network felt the host offended them and breached his contract when he joked that they didn’t want him using the n-word and saying the show crushes his “swagger” overall. Cannon joked they were trying to make him lose his “black card.”

Today, Nick Cannon took to Facebook and announced his departure.

“So I wish AGT and NBC the best in its upcoming season but I can not see myself returning. As of lately I have even questioned if I want to even be apart of an industry who ultimately treats artists in this manner…My soul won’t allow me to be in business with corporations that attempt to frown on freedom of speech, censor artists, and question cultural choices…Dr. King said it best, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.””

Cannon felt he was disrespected by the network for considering firing him in the first place, and even stated recently he would have sued them if they did, in fact, fire him over the joke.

Nick Cannon took over hosting duties of AGT in 2009 and hosted seasons 4 through 10. He’s a fan favorite, known for his goofy jokes and hilarious reactions to acts. Cannon also has the honor of being a tie breaker, should the judges not be able to make a decision.

Cannon’s full Facebook post can be read here.

Will you still watch the show now that he’s gone?

A New Business Is Bringing Back The Drive-In With A Modern Twist

If you’re old enough to remember going to a drive-in theater, you know there’s no better way to see a movie. The experience of parking your car, grabbing popcorn from the food stand, hooking up your speaker and watching a movie under the stars is unbeatable.

But a new company in Nashville is planning to let you do all that and more, and it’s set to open later this year.

August Moon is an indoor drive-in theater contained under a massive dome. You park your car outside, then head inside to find a 1960s-themed “drive-in” complete with chairs that look like vintage cars.

The theater’s designers went all out, including lots of little touches that really make it feel like a drive-in. There are gravel paths, live trees, fireflies, and even a projection of the night sky on the dome’s ceiling.

If you don’t feel like sitting in a car, there is also regular seating, as well as private tree houses and even swings.

Visitors can enjoy all the classic drive-in food, like milkshakes and hamburgers, or grab a bite in the lounge, which features live music before and after each movie.

This ambitious project will coast more than $10 million and take up more than 40,000 square feet. It will also feature the biggest non-Imax screen in America.

For the movies themselves, August Moon plans to play both classic movies that you can’t see at any other theaters and new releases.

As you can tell, this project is shaping up to be pretty impressive once it’s complete. It’s no wonder the building’s developers are already planning to expand around the world.

Tom Cruise’s Family Struck By Tragedy – What We Know About His Mother’s Sudden Death

It’s always painful when big stars lose someone close to them. It reminds us that no matter how famous or successful you are, no one is immune to heartbreak. Tom Cruise is one of Hollywood’s most famous leading men, but his family has just lost someone very important.

Cruise’s mother, Mary Lee South, has died at age 80. The cause of death is unknown so far, but South had been living with health problems for a number of years. Sometime last week Cruise and his three sisters attended a memorial service for their mother at her local Church of Scientology.

Cruise was reportedly very close with his mother, and she was the actor’s “date” to many award shows.

In past interview, Cruise says his mother encouraged him to pursue acting. In a Rolling Stone article from 1986, she told a reporter that she “was always interested in theater, but I never did anything with it.”

“When I was growing up, if you went to Hollywood, that was really risqué.” Despite this, she always encouraged her son to follow his dreams, and believed he could succeed in show business.

“I guess I was his greatest audience. He had it in him then.”

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

Jessa Duggar’s New Baby Has A Very Unusual Name

Jessa (Duggar) Seewald has continued her streak of giving her children odd names.

Jessa and her husband, Ben, named their first child Spurgeon after a British preacher who founded a theological college in the 1800s. His middle name is Elliot, after missionaries Jim and Elizabeth Elliot who worked in South America.

But now, they’ve chosen an ever more interesting name for their second son, who was born February 6th.

Meet Henry Wilberforce Seewald.

While the name Henry was chosen mainly because the couple liked it, Wilberforce has a historical meaning.

William Wilberforce was a politician and philanthropist who was instrumental in putting an end to the slave trade.

“We just thought [Henry] was cute, but also there was another great man of God name Matthew Henry who lived before Wilberforce and he wrote a lot of great commentaries,” Ben Seewald said.

“I think it’s really awesome that we have two little boys so close together in age. I know they’re going to be best friends and love growing up and doing everything together, so I’m looking forward to seeing that,” said Jessa.

Henry Wilberforce and Spurgeon Elliot are just 14 months apart, so I think it’s safe to say they will be best friends (and also worst enemies) as they grow up!

10 Surprising Facts You Didn’t Know About Florence Henderson

Florence Henderson is one of televisions most notable moms. As the matriarch of the Brady family, she was a big part in a lot of people’s childhoods. But how much do you know about her?

Here are 10 interesting facts you probably didn’t know about the actress.

She learned about hypnotherapy from John Kappas who was her husband.

3. She comes from a family bigger than the Brady’s

She is the youngest of 10 children! That is a lot of kids!

Her best friend Shirley Jones was offered the role first, but when she turned it down it went to Henderson. Jones then went on to play the mom on The Partridge Family so it worked out great for everyone!

Well, he thought it was a date and she thought it was just humoring him. Apparently the oldest brother, Greg, played by actor Barry Williams was infatuated with the star 20 years his senior. He took her to dinner (driven by his mother) but it was blown out of proportion completely.

9. Florence says that Carol killed her first husband

What happened between Carol and her first husband was never really explained so Florence claimed that she killed her spouse and was the “original black widow”. She says it was a joke but who knows, she does know Carol Brady better than anyone!

In Weird Al’s song Amish Paradise Florence Henderson appears, so obviously she has a great sense of humor!

Hugh Jackman Updates His Fans After Skin Cancer Surgery

Living with cancer is a nightmare, but curing it is no picnic either. Hugh Jackman knows better than anyone. The X-Men star has just shared news with his followers online that he’s undergone six surgeries to cure his.

Jackman discovered he had basal cell carcinoma, the most common type of skin cancer, back in 2013. He found out after his longtime wife Deborra-Lee Furness said he should get a mark on his nose checked by a doctor.

“Boy, was she right!” he wrote on Twitter.

Since then we’ve seen the actor sporting a band aid on his nose a few times over the years after his many surgeries.

While Jackman is shrugging off his surgery, he warned his fans to protect themselves and wear sunscreen. Hopefully Hugh will be feeling better soon, and this will be the last surgery he has to go through.

Then And Now: Cast Of “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman”

What could be better than watching the adventures (or misadventures) of a headstrong lady doctor forging her own life in the wild west and making a name for herself in the process?

I’d argue the addition of a supportive male lead who pretty much encourages her to do whatever she thinks is best because she’s the boss and he knows it.

Dr. Michaela “Mike” Quinn was the kind of woman we all dreamed we would be if we had grown up in the Wild West and Byron Sully was the kind of husband we all hoped we’d have.

The beloved show lasted five seasons beetween 1993 and 1998, but do the actors look like now? Almost 10 years later, let’s take look at them then and now!

Jayne Seymour (Then)

When she started her most famous role in 19963, the British actress was 42 years old.

She’s still gorgeous and at 66-years-old shows no signs of stopping. In 2017 alone she has wrapped up filming on 6 movies, including the most recent, Mistrust.

Joe Lando (Then)

As Byron Sulley

Now rocking a darker hair color, but still killing it with that smile, the 53 year-old Lando is still acting. He plays Danny in the comedy/drama The Untold Story.

Chad Allen (Then)

As Matthew Cooper

At 43 years old, he’s definitely outgrown his Matthew Cooper days.

He’s enjoying a lengthy career in film and television, having appeared in Dexter, Charmed, and CSI: Miami. He is an activist and publicly champions for LGBT rights and same-sex marriage.

Jessica Bowman (Then)

The second of two actresses to play Colleen Cooper.

At 37-years-old, Jessica hasn’t been very active in the film and TV industry lately. Her most recent role was as Michelle Zlatanovic in the 2011 short comedy film Striker.

Shawn Toovey (Then)

He was just 10 years old and cute as a button when he played the role of Brian Cooper.

According to IMDB, Shawn hasn’t done any acting since 2001, when he appeared in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” The Heart Within, a TV movie.

The 34 year-old actor is a founding member of the Children’s Board of the Audrey Hepburn Hollywood for Children Foundation as well as being active in many other child advocacy organizations.

Rory Feek Comes Clean About His Cheating Past

Rory Feek shocked fans after new details of his past came out.

The gospel singer, who shot to fame alongside his late-wife, Joey, just released a memoir and he reveals some not-so-flattering information about a former life he lived.

In Feek’s memoir, This Life I Live, he writes about sleeping with his then best friend’s wife. A young Marine at the time, Feek was home on a weekend pass when he went to visit his buddy, but he wasn’t there. The guy’s wife, and mother of his two young kids, was there. Feek says both of them were very drunk, and then “it happened.”

The next morning, the wife was ready to throw her life away for Feek.

“She told me that we should come clean, that we were in love and should let everybody know it,” Feek writes. “I was still drunk. Exhausted. Reeling from what had happened the night before. It had felt like love … Maybe it was. I looked up and saw my friend’s wife looking at me like she cared about me. I said, ‘Okay, let’s do it.’ “

A young Rory Feek and a childhood friend, Aaron

The wife and her kids left Feek’s friend, and moved in with Rory for six months. After all the trouble they had caused, the relationship “didn’t work out.”

“She still loved him. My friend,” Feek writes. “And so with tears streaming down my face, I took her and those little boys to the airport and watched as they boarded a plane to try to go back and resume the life they had. Meanwhile, mine had been wrecked.”

Years later, after turning his life around, Feek found real love in Joey. The two got married and 10 years later, Joey gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Indiana. Unfortunately, Joey passed away two years after Indy’s birth due to cervical cancer. But Rory says her love is still felt all around them.

“I’d like to think that Joey is proud of how I’m doing – how we’re all doing, especially Indiana,” Feek said. “She took so much pride in the work of being a mama to Indy, and I find myself thinking of her every day, all day long in the time that Indy and I spend together and the things we do, wondering how she would handle this, or do that.”

Navy Airman Comes Home After Months Away, And His Dogs Reaction Has Us In Tears

U.S. Navy Airman Michael Schiela has spent months out of state for training. He was deeply missed by his family, but no one missed him more than his dogs.

Lucky for the four puppers, Michael just returned home and is waiting to see them!

The pugs – Pixie, Pierre, Seamus, and Rooney – have been pining for Michael since he left, so his family set up a little surprise for them. Michael returned to his parents’ house in Philly, where the pugs currently live. Tina Finnegan, Michael’s mom, enlisted the help of the whole family to plan the reunion.

“My younger son put the dogs in a bedroom upstairs when we pulled up to the house from the airport. When Michael came in, he released them,” she said.

When the dogs were released out of their room, they went WILD! No one expected them to get so excited, not even Tina.

“I knew they were going to be thrilled. They missed him badly,” says Tina. “I wasn’t really expecting them to maul him quite like that though!”

It’s the kind of thing that needs to be seen to be believed. Check it out!

The pugs jump, crawl, and kiss all over Michael as he sits on the couch, taking it all in! The family recorded a video of the reunion and it’s pretty much the cutest thing ever.

Their sailor is home!

How good is your eye sight? If you answered with “pretty good, I guess” then you might have to rethink your answer.

Animals in the wild have evolved over time to become more camouflage to their surroundings, as a way of self-protection. These guys seem to have gotten a pretty good grasp on that, too. These creatures manage to blend right into their surroundings, which is great for them, but annoying for us when we want to see them in the pictures!!

Check out this series of photos that we PROMISE has an animal in each one. They may infuriate you, but try to make it to the end of the list!

I spent a good 20 minutes trying to find them all and it wasn’t easy at all! Sometimes you think you’re good at something and then quizzes like this come a long and you realize you’re wrong…oh well.

Cat That Weighed Almost 30 Pounds Is Completely Trasformed

He may look relaxed, but Watson the cat lived a rough life before he was left at an animal shelter in Oregon.

His former owners treated him to huge amounts of unhealthy food, then abandoned him when he started having trouble using the litter box. Fortunately he was taken in by a foster family, but they had their work cut out for them.

Watson was unhappy and shy. He wouldn’t play with any of the other cats in his foster home, just sat in his room all day. It took over a year for his foster mom, Sheila, to change his life for the better.

The first problem to tackle was Watson’s weight. When he came to Sheila’s house he was 26 pounds. She put him on a strict diet: half a can of food in the morning, and the other half at night.

She also made him leave his room upstairs and play with the other cats. He didn’t want to, but Sheila figured out how to make the trip worthwhile for him.

“I finally convinced him to go down by only feeding him downstairs. He would go halfway, rest on the landing, and continue to the bottom,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

Now, Watson is a healthy 15 pounds, and much friendlier. He still likes to lay in the sunshine by the windows, and wakes his owners up early for breakfast, but he also loves to climb things and explore his home.

It’s all thanks to Sheila and her dedication to making Watson’s life better. He’s living with new owners now, but you can still follow his story on his Instagram page.

Did He Just Do That – Or Is This Video In Reverse?

Dogs are great – you can pretty much dress them up in anything and they’ll love you for it.

As much as you just KNOW Fluffy will look adorable in his little vest/hat/tutu, he’s 100{49382ccf8aa3307257579caf6f867159d328eca730a0976815a1bacefc5bc6ee} certain he does not want it.

Even attempt to dress him up and your arms are a bloody mess.

Somehow, this woman figured out how to get her beautiful, grey cat to do something no other cat would ever willingly do. It’s the look he gives the camera right after that had us in tears!

Do you think he actually put it on? Or is this video in reverse?

What This Golden Retriever Did Made The Difference Between Life And Death

Michigan native, Bob stepped out on New Year’s Eve to grab a log for the fire, when he slipped on some ice and broke his back. He was wearing nothing more than slippers and his pajamas and the temperature was dropping.

He called out for help, but no one heard.

That’s when his dog, Kelsey, came running.

For 20 hours, the Golden Retriever laid on top of him to keep him warm.

She was able to stop him from developing severe hypothermia and frostbite by licking his hands and face throughout the night.

Hours later, Bob lost his voice and then slipped out of consciousness. But brave Kelsey never stopped barking.

The next morning, a neighbor who had come to borrow some eggs, heard Kelsey and called 911. Bob was rushed into surgery. Although the procedure was a success, he will still have to undergo many hours of physical therapy in order to make a full recovery.

Bob will remain eternally grateful to Kelsey for her bravery and her loyalty:

“She kept me warm and alert. I knew I had to persevere through this and that it was my choice to stay alive,” he said.

These Photos Show Us What Animals Look Like In The Womb

There are so many unknowns when it comes to nature. Why animals do certain things, how the reproduce, where they migrate to, the questions are endless.

But National Geographic producer Peter Chin has done his best to give us some insight into a truly unseen aspect of wildlife: what animals look like while they’re in the womb.

Chin and his team used a combination of 3D ultrasound scans, tiny cameras, and computer generation to recreate these embryonic images. They aren’t exactly photographs from the uterus, but they give is a very accurate representation of what these animals look like in their mother’s uterus (or in eggs, as some case may be.)

What They Saw Slithering Up The Toilet Was Only The Beginning Of Their Nightmare

WARNING: This story is not for the faint of heart. (I.E. if you hate snakes, this will surely be your nightmare.)

A family in Texas found out last week that they were not the sole occupants of their house. One of the family members was in the bathroom when they noticed something slithering out of the toilet.

After a probably large amount of screaming, the family called Big Country Snake removal to deal with their visitor. Rattlesnakes are one of four poisonous types of snakes in North Texas, so they made the right call to bring in the professionals.

But when Big Country Snake Removal showed up, they noticed something horrifying…

There was evidence of MULTIPLE rattlesnakes living in the home, not just the toilet dweller.

The inspector wrote about the experience on the company Facebook page, saying “When I arrived, I immediately noticed a few problematic areas. Intuition took me directly to a storm cellar where I safely removed 13 adult rattlesnakes. After a thorough perimeter check, I crawled underneath the house where I removed another 10, 5 being babies…. 24 snakes total, (including the toilet snake) and the family had no idea….”

That sounds like the plot of a Samuel L. Jackson movie, honestly.

The inspector didn’t seem too phased by the whole situation, saying, “How is this possible? It’s actually quite simple; rattlesnake are secretive and can be very cryptic- They rely heavily on their camouflage. This is simply how they survive. Just because you don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there….”

Big Country Snake Removal is encouraging everyone to get snake inspections, and are even offering discounts on their services through the month of February.

Personally, if this was my house, I’d move. Or hire a snake inspector to be on duty 24/7.
