Everyone has an obsession. For some of us, it’s a hit TV show, fashion, celebrity gossip or food but for some, like 22-year old Vinny Ohh, it’s appearance.
The California-based makeup artist and part-time model wants to transform into a “sexless alien” and has already spent an insane amount of money to achieve this out-this-world look.
Ohh has already shelled about $50,000 on more than 110 plastic surgery procedures and he still has more work that needs to be done.
He currently identifies as genderless and is hoping to have his genitals, belly button and nipples removed to reflect how he truly feels on the inside.
“The overall image I want to do is an alien. I want to be a hybrid, not male or female. I’ve wanted to be sexless and genderless since I was 17, I’ve been going to doctors to see if it’s possible but had no luck.” explains Ohh. This procedure will cost him upwards of $160,000 according to MailOnline.
Find out why Vinny decided to transform into an alien on the next page.
The idea to become an alien isn’t something that Vinny decided to do overnight.
He says he always felt different growing up so this is just his way to embracing it, “When people ask me how I’d label myself, I tell them an ‘extra-terrestrial, hot mess, self-obsessed’ it’s becoming my slogan.”
Vinny’s extra-terrestrial journey started with lip fillers at the age of 17. He then had two nose jobs, multiple cheeks and brow bone fillers, and more. He also wears large black contact lenses that he considers a “necessity.”
Although genderless, Vinny is an LGBT+ activist and wants people to do away with labels. “I do it to inspire the world in a certain way, I want people to stop labelling others or putting them in boxes.”
This may be first time you hear about Vinny but it certainly won’t be the last. You follow along as he tries to “change everyone’s mind about human dolls” on the upcoming TV show, The Plastics of Hollywood.
The country was stunned when news of Christina Grimmie’s death broke on June 10th, 2016.
The former contest on The Voice was performing a concert in Florida when an audience member shot her twice in the head and chest as she was signing autographs for fans.
Grimmie’s death shook The Voice family, with former coach Adam Levine left completely devastated. He offered to personally paid for Grimmie’s funeral and her mother’s flight to attend. The tragedy clearly affected him and he has kept in touch with the singer’s family ever since.
Now, not even a year later, Christina Grimmie’s family has started a foundation in her name. The Christina Grimmie Foundation supports families affected by gun violence, and also families like her own affected by breast cancer.
On last night’s episode of The Voice, Adam Levine and his team paid tribute to Christina Grimmie and her foundation by performing ‘Hey Jude.’ Her family was in attendance and were noticeably moved.
You NEED to see this performance. I had chills the whole time.
#TeamAdam dedicates this performance of “Hey Jude” to Christina Grimmie. #CGForever
According to CNN’s Chloe Melas and Brian Stelter, Kelly Ripa has finally decided on a new co-host.
It’s been almost a year to the day since Michael Strahan abruptly left Live with Kelly and Michael to pursue a hosting gig with Good Morning America. It became a big scandal when Ripa revealed she only found out about Strahan’s departure 30 minutes before it was released by the press.
But now, after months of searching, Ripa is ready to announce who will be sitting with her every morning.
And it’s probably someone you know VERY well.
It’s Ryan Seacrest!
The former American Idol host will continue his radio shows for iHeartMedia, with ABC building him a radio studio in the same building that houses Live.
Seacrest’s role will include on and off-air duties, which will be added to his busy schedule of also hosting red carpet specials for the E! Network.
I’m excited to see how this duo plays off each other…are you?
Patricia Krentcil, whose deep-bronze complexion earned her the nickname “Tan Mom,” became a household name in 2012 after news about her extreme addiction broke all over the internet.
The New Jersey mom was addicted to tanning and caused a lot of controversy when the media reported that her 5-year-old daughter showed up to school with burns all over her body.
It was later revealed that she had the little girl join her on a tanning session despite the fact that New Jersey has a ban on children under 14 using tanning beds.
Tan Mom was subsequently arrested but the jury eventually found her not guilty because there wasn’t enough evidence to support the charges against her.
Over the last 5 years, Patricia gave up tanning after an intervention by her family. She managed to keep her fame alive by engaging in various projects. She dabbled in some music, made a cameo in an adult movie and promoted a skincare book.
About a year after the child endangerment charges against her were dropped, Patricia entered rehab for alcohol abuse.
She also had other not-so-great moments including drunken red carpet appearances, a second stint in rehab and a divorce from her husband, Richard.
The 50-year-old eventually toned down the tanning and is getting her life back on track. Back in March, she called into the Howard Stern Show and told listeners that she “might be moving to Dallas” with a man she met a party and is currently dating. She described him as a “NASA stock broker, Fortune 500.”
Life and Style Magazine recently unveiled photos that show the former tanning addict’s new look and she appears to be doing well.
Take a look:
She is currently part of The Howard Stern Show Wack Packers, an unusual group of people who contribute to programming with their comical quips.

Courtney Stodden and actor Doug Hutchison’s marriage was one of the most talked about topics of 2011. The pair got hitched in Las Vegas when Courtney was just sixteen years old and Doug 50.
The couple met during an internet-based acting workshop ran by Doug and began to date exclusively online for about 6 months. Soon after, they met in person and it didn’t take long for Doug to learn about Courtney’s real age.
According to reports, he was ready to end the relationship but Courtney’s mom gave him her blessing because regardless of how young her daughter may be, she was confident that she would make the right choices as a “devout christian.”
“Doug is wonderful,” Stodden told Us Weekly in 2011. “He picks up my coffee beans that I spill on the floor. He picks up my foundation. He picks up my feathers from my big robe that I wear. My high heels are all over. I have a wonderful life, a wonderful husband.”
Since appearing under the spotlight, Courtney took full advantage of her newfound fame to further her beauty pageant career and establish herself as a celebrity. Both her and Doug made appearances on Good Morning America, E! News and VH1’s Couples Therapy.
The teen bride has consistently posted lewd photos of herself online in the name of modelling and stirred up plenty of controversy when she released teamed up with Vivid Entertainment to release a sex-tape in 2015.
Prior to the film’s release, Courtney starred on the 12th season of Celebrity Big Brother and 50 Cent’s “Don’t Worry Bout It” music video.
In 2013, the May-December couple confirmed rumors of their divorce citing age as a reason. However, in mid-2014, they announced that they have reconciled and planned to renew their vows.
It wasn’t long after that the couple announced that they were expecting their first child but unfortunately, things took a sad turn a few months into Courtney’s pregnancy.
Continue on to the next page to find out what happened and see what Courtney looks like today!
Last July, three months into her pregnancy, Courtney suffered a miscarriage. The 22-year-old reality star opened up about her struggle with the “emotional loss” in an interview with Us Magazine.
“It’s a bittersweet time for me right now. I’m dealing with a lot of stress and emotions surrounding life and its ups and downs,” she told the magazine at the time. “Doug and I weren’t planning on going public with this so soon. I’m only four weeks along in my pregnancy. But some things are out of your control.”
The months following the loss of their unborn child continued to be very trying for the couple and in January 2017, it was reported that they have split after 6 years of marriage.
“They split a couple of months ago but they’re still living together,” a source close to the couple told ET. “They’re still friendly. There’s no bad blood. [Courtney] wants to focus on herself and her career.”
Courtney seems to have been bouncing back well from the separation seeing as she threw a massive divorce party this past April at Crazy Horse III Gentlemen’s Club.
Despite all the hardship the past year brought along, the blonde bombshell has no plans to slow down anytime soon.
“I’m really excited to let my hair down and be single and learn and grow. And my brand, to be immersed in that,” she told Las Vegas Review Journal.
She’s made plenty of solo red carpet appearances since the divorce announcement and she is definitely not 16 anymore. She’s sporting a very different look than when she first made waves online.
Her transformation hasn’t only been physical either. Continue to the next page to see how she’s changed.
Anyone can tell you that the years between 16 and 22 are big ones, and not enough maturing is done in that little bit at a time. Now, just truly entering adulthood, Stodden is preparing to grow on her own as opposed to being part of a couple.
“I am happy and I am excited,” she told E! News. “Just being able to start over. When I was 16 I got my marriage license instead of my driver’s license.”
She says she’s staying single for now and focusing on marketing her brand and learning to grow.
While she is still known mainly for her looks, Stodden says she’s working on “her brand” and frequently makes red carpet appearances.
For his part, Hutchinson suffered a serious career backlash after the marriage.
“When we got married he lost his family. His managers dropped him, his agent put a pin in his career, he lost his friends,” Stodden said in the interview.
Now he co-manages Stodden, and although separated, the two continue to live together in the house. Both have frequently said that the split is amicable and the pair remains friendly.

Although Courtney initially denied having plastic surgery, she later opened up on more than one occasion about going under the knife.
Back in 2016, she gave Entertainment Tonight a behind-the scenes peek at procedures she was getting done, her nose job being the most important one.
Courtney expressed feeling self-conscious about the shape of her nose so she was excited to finally get it fixed.
She told the entertainment network that she is open to more procedures in the future when “when gravity starts taking over.”

When Howie Mandel hit the coveted Golden Buzzer, 16-year-old Christian Guardino couldn’t have been more surprised.
When Christian took the stage, he was obviously very nervous his hands shaking as he was answering Simon’s questions. Once he opened his mouth to sing “Who’s Lovin’ You” it’s like all his fears disappeared- and with good reason.
We’re in awe of Christian Guardino’s breathtaking voice.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after an emotional performance for the inspiring story of Guardino. He received a standing ovation from the judges and audience causing Howie to slam that Golden Buzzer.
“I wanted to cry,” Guardino tells EW. “I was really nervous before I got on stage. I was just thinking, I can’t mess up. I can’t mess up. I can’t mess up. But when I saw everything that was going on with the judges, all my nerves turned into strong energy and excitement. I started going off on the song and getting comfortable.”
See how this young man overcame blindness to perform on the AGT stage on the next page.
Being blind as a child, he was able to regain his ability to see at the age of 12 after undergoing a revolutionary treatment.
When dealing with his vision impairment as a child, he turned to music.
“Music was always my escape,” he says. “When I was dealing with my condition, it was a way to forget everything that was happening.”
His struggle with his vision ended up amplifying his musical talent in the end.
“My hearing was strengthened because of my eyesight,” he says. “I hear music in a strong way. It’s always been there for me.”
Guardino has had a successful music background, considering his age. He has sang multiple times at the Apollo Theater and even performed a duet with Jordin Sparks at an event for Michelle Obama’s Partnership for a Healthy America.
He takes his musical inspiration from Stevie Wonder who also has issues with his sight.
I feel like I relate to him and what he goes through being blind and struggling with his sight,” he says. “I love his voice. It’s incredible.”
Getting Howie’s Golden Buzzer bodes well for the team as in 2016, Howie hit for Grace VanderWaal who went on to win the whole competition!
Now there is only one buzzer left- Heidi’s. Who will she choose to go straight through the Live Show?
9-year-old Celine Tam has big shoes to fill if she wants to live up to her namesake.
The young Celine Dion super fan unexpectedly stuns the crowd at her America’s Got Talent Audition with her cover of “My Heart Will Go On”.
She had no problem charming the audience and judges through her frequent references to the vocal powerhouse singer. But I think it’s safe to say, no one expected her jaw-dropping performance.
Celine, whose younger sister is named Dion, told the judges that she first realized her own talent while singing along to the track in the car with her dad, to none-other than a Celine Dion song.
See Simon’s reaction and her stunning performance on the next page.
By this point Simon was getting a little frustrated by the Celine Dion references, but continued along with the connections by identifying the kind of music she likes to listen to and her big dream to be the next Celine Dion.
Simon finished up with asking which artist she will be singing for her audience, getting the answer he expected: Celine Dion.
By the time she hit the middle of the 1997 classic, people couldn’t help but get on their feet to cheer on the young girl.
Anyone that can pull off this complicated vocal performance certainly deserves to continue on!

Can’t wait to see what she will do next- maybe The Power of Love?
Most girls, even if they considered themselves as tomboys, owned a small Barbie doll collection while growing up. While a lot of young girls saw the popular doll as an outlet for creativity by dressing it up and styling it’s hair (more like chopping), a few aspired to be like Barbie when they grow up.
Rachel Evans is among those girls who desperately wanted to look like the doll. After a series of unfortunate events in her life, she took the first step towards transforming her physical appearance to mirror Barbie.
The 46-year-old single mother from London, U.K began her journey towards becoming a living doll about 11 years ago after suffering from bouts of depression triggered by the loss of one of her sons at birth and a broken relationship. A grieving Rachel also battled anorexia and at one point weighed under 100 pounds.
“After that traumatic time, I was a broken woman and it showed,” explained Rachel.
During difficult times Rachel found solace in Barbie and it wasn’t long after that the once average mom with Gothic black hair turned to plastic surgery so she could model her appearance after the beloved doll.
“When I was 30, the reason why I started the quest to look like Barbie was I needed to kill off the gothic image, the old image. And I had this idea to look like a completely different person,” Rachel said in an interview.
Rachel has already spent over $25,000 for multiple reconstructive procedures including breast and cheek augmentation, face fillers, contouring, jaw tightening, and a nose job.
She also goes to the gym 5 times a week, runs 8 miles a day and lives on rice, chicken and tuna to maintain her tiny Barbie-like figure.
“I feel like Barbie, I think like Barbie and I am Barbie. I think me and Barbie are the same person. I am a human doll,” she told Daily Mail.
Rachel documents her life as a living human doll on her blog and has earned a spot on a few reality television shows including OMG: My Barbie Body, First Dates and Celebrity Botched Up Bodies.
Her new persona also helped her win the TFE Bikini Champion title in the over 35 category. She even a penned a book about her transformation titled Inside The Studio With Rachel.
She mentioned that she has no plans to stop altering her looks until she turns 80 years old.
“If you think it, feel it and believe it you are it. So I’m the Barbie,” said Rachel.
Rachel is still single but she’s holding out hope that a human Ken doll will find her and perhaps they can live happily ever after.
In the meantime, she’s content with recreating Barbie’s “frozen” look as a model and raising her son, Rees.
Here are some more photos of Rachel embodying her favorite doll:

Brandon Rogers became a family doctor 2 years ago after he watched medical staff help his mother through an emergency medical situation when he was a child.
“I feel like I’m in a field where I can make a difference,” he says. “There can be really tough days sometimes, too. My way to cope with the stress has always been music.”
One month before his audition was scheduled to air, Brandon Rogers was killed in a car accident.
Rogers was not behind the wheel when the single-car collision occurred in Maryland. The 29 year-old was in the front passenger seat when his friend’s car veered off the road and crashed into a tree. Reports indicate that the driver had fallen asleep at the wheel after a long work shift. The driver and a passenger in the backseat survived the crash.
At the request of his family, America’s Got Talent honored his memory by sharing his audition on the show.
See the video and the audience’s reaction on the next page.
The talented doctor rose to fame when his cover of Boys II Men’s On Bended Knee went viral and caught the attention of the band.
Impressed by his talents they invited him to Las Vegas to perform with them.
After the news of his passing, the band paid tribute on their Facebook page.
“Today our hearts are deeply saddened to learn about the sudden death of Dr. Brandon Rogers in a car accident,” they wrote.”A few months back we brought this young man out to the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas to perform with us. He was great all 3 nights! Just a genuinely nice person and a really good singer! Gone too young and gone too soon. It hurts to know that the world will never have a chance to witness what his impact on the world could have been as a Doctor and even on the music world.A great spirit and a great voice. Even for the little time we knew you, you will be sorely missed. May God Bless, keep and comfort your family in this difficult time.”
He went on to wow the AGT judges with his rendition of Stevie Wonder’s Ribbon in the Sky.
He received a standing ovation from the crowd and glowing remarks from the judges for his performance.
Heidi loved Brandon, saying “There is something so special about your voice.” Mel B said he was the complete package, telling him, “You’re great.”
Howie joked that his medical background was waste of time, but something to fall back on, and Simon told him his vocal was “stunning.” He earned a “yes” from all four judges.
Watch the video below and see if you get goosebumps from his performance too.
On June 11th one of our contestants, Brandon Rogers, tragically passed away in a car accident. At the request of his family we would like to honor his memory by sharing his audition with you.
In an emotional 2-hour interview, Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller shared her worst fears about going to prison.
The dance coach’s fans love her for her no-nonsense, confrontational attitude, but they saw a different side of the celebrity when she sat down with the View host Jedediah Bila during her last 2 weeks as a free woman.
Miller was reduced to tears, and said she’s been “crying her eyes out” about the upcoming prison sentence, and how it will change her life. The reality TV star reveals her pool is one of the things she’ll miss the most while she’s in jail, along with her wardrobe. “I don’t know if they’re going to have a bra that fits me,” she explained, and adds that wearing khaki every day will be stressful.
She’s also concerned that her vegan diet will be disrupted while she’s in prison. Miller recently lost 30 pounds after having a gastric sleeve surgery to remove 80 of her stomach, and has been trying to eat healthy. “I don’t think there’s a salad bar and I doubt there’s going to be a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables,” she told Bila.
The emotional interview also touched on her relationship with former Dance Moms co-star Maddie Ziegler, who’s become famous for starring in Sia’s music videos. Ziegler has cut ties with Miller, and doesn’t even mention the coach in her new memoir.
“I look at what she has done, and the other jobs and the other opportunities besides Dance Moms—they all involve dancing,” Miller says about Ziegler. “They’re all judging dance, dancing, performing, something. I don’t think, had she not been at my studio, she would be where she is today. And I can confidently say that,”
Find out why Miller is worried she’ll be attacked in prison on the next page!
Aside from sticking to her diet, Miller has some very real concerns about her life behind bars, and whether she’ll be safe.
Miller has been sentenced to a year and a day in California’s FCI Victorville Prison, but will probably only serve 10 months before moving to a halfway house. She plead guilty to concealing bankruptcy assets and not reporting an international monetary transaction last year.
Authorities say Miller hid $775,000 of her money from Dance Moms, but the TV star says her biggest mistake was “trusting other people with my money.”
“I’m not this horrible, evil person!” she said during the interview. “I just made mistakes and I was stupid. And I thought because you’re paying everybody back, it doesn’t matter– the rules don’t matter. But the rules matter. There are rules for a reason.”
Before entering prison on July 12, Miller confessed to People magazine that she fears her celebrity will make her a target behind bars. “I’m afraid of being physically abused,” she said.
“I mean, if a whole gang of people want to kill you, they’re gonna do it,” she said during her interview with Bila. “If a whole bunch of people want to make your life a living hell, they’re gonna do it. If it’s that bad, I probably won’t survive.”

There’s no shortage of inspiring stories on talent shows, but these contestants who overcame bullying are the most impressive of all:
This teenage singer got a Golden Buzzer when he appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, but also had a very hard time growing up. He describes being picked on, mocked, and even beaten with a scooter.
“But, you know, that’s life,” he said, “sometimes you have to literally take it on chin.” That cheery attitude – and his incredible voice – took him all the way to last year’s finals.
In season 10 of American Idol, 20-year-old Rush seriously impressed the judges, but since she left the competition she’s made an even bigger impression on her young fans.
Rush tours the country talking to schoolkids about bullying, something she knows a lot about. “When I was in middle school I was bullied a lot,” she says, “and I didn’t believe in myself.” Singing has taught her self-worth, and Rush wants to share that lesson with everyone.
These pint-sized rappers got a Golden Buzzer from Simon when they appeared on Britain’sGot Talent, where they performed a special song with a strong message against bullying.
Leondre, the younger boy, revealed he was bullied in elementary school, and used music as a way to express himself and deal with the pain. While they didn’t win the competition, Bars and Melody are still together and making music.
Crum has been singing since he was just 6 years old, and sadly he was bullied from an early age too. Other kids picked on Brian for being gay and overweight, and he didn’t hesitate to share his story on America’s Got Talent.
“I feel that people don’t share their personal stories enough!” he told HuffPost. “I want to be positive light and show all kids that no matter how hard it is, life can be amazing if you work hard. You just need to find your passion and throw yourself into it!”
Andrew Johnston, the incredible 14-year-old singer, wasn’t afraid to share his personal story either!
From the moment he sang the first words of “Pia Jesu” on stage, it was clear that Andrew Johnston was born to be a star. He developed an interest in classical music at a young age, which lead his classmates to pick on him.
Johsnton was determined to “keep on singing” no matter what anyone said, and the world fell in love with his incredible voice on Britain’s Got Talent. Today he performs in Britain’s National Youth Choir.
Mayor was told she would have to change her image if she wanted her music career to take off, but she knew better. Her hard work and dedication paid off when the America’s Got Talent judges gave her a standing ovation.
The original overnight sensation, Boyle famously told the judges on Britain’s Got Talent she had never been kissed before putting the crowd on their feet with her rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream.”
Boyle has Asperger syndrome (a mild form of autism) and says she was bullied in school because of her differences by children who called her “Susie Simple.”
Now, the world calls her a Grammy-nominated chart-topper who holds multiple Guinness World Records for her albums and singles.
Growing up in the mostly-white city of Liverpool, England, Collins’ race made him a target for bullies. The singer revealed in an interview with the Daily Star that he would even be chased and attacked in the street.
“Being bullied definitely made me tougher,” he said, “I’ve learned to handle knock-backs and rejection.” Those lessons came in handy when he auditioned for The X Factor, where he managed to fight for 2nd place behind girl group Little Mix.
Vanbeck’s incredible voice made her a fan-favorite on The X Factor, but she wound up being eliminated in the second round. Still, her incredible story resonated with people around the world.
Her performance of “Piece by Piece” moved the judges to tears, but they might have been softened up by her story about being picked on as a child. Incredibly, Vanbeck was picked on because of her singing!
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house – including Simon’s – after this incredible singer’s first audition for The X Factor. Like other contestants, she was picked on by kids at school.
Jensen revealed to the judges that her classmates would call her and play her music over the phone as a way to tease the young singer. But we bet they aren’t laughing now that the world is in love with Jensen’s voice!
While there are lots of male dancers these days, ballet still has a reputation for being “for girls,” which caused lots of trouble for Higgins. Boys at his school picked on him for his love of dance, despite his incredible talent.
“People used to call me names when I started ballet,” the 14-year-old told the judges, but he never let that stop him from following his passion, which brought him all the way to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent.

Judge Judith Sheindlin has been the queen of court television for as long as many of us can remember.
Her matter-of-fact, no-nonsense rulings had us all hooked from the moment she uttered the words “um is not an answer.”
Before she was the star of a hit reality court TV show, she was working as a supervising judge in a New York family court. Now, she’s the second highest paid TV reality/news/host with an annual salary of $47 million!
How does she do it?
In a deposition obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Judge Judy explains how she negotiates her salary with CBS.
“CBS had no choice but to pay me what I wanted, because otherwise I could take it wherever I wanted to take it, or do it myself,” she said.
If Judge Judy produces the show herself, she says she could earn an additional $20 million. So far, she seems content to let CBS take care of that though.
Every three years she has a ‘renegotiation’ with broadcaster CBS.
She meets with the president of the company for dinner at the Grill on the Alley, where she hands him an envelope. The envelope contains a list of demands that must be met if CBS wishes to keep her program.
Judge Judy says:
“We sit across the table, and I hand him the envelope and I say, ‘Don’t read it now, let’s have a nice dinner. Call me tomorrow. You want it, fine. Otherwise, I’ll produce it myself.’ That’s the negotiation.”
With 10.3 million viewers a week, and ownership of the rights to produce the show herself, Judge Judy certainly has the leverage.
Her annual salary of $47 million puts her at No. 2 on the list of TV’s highest-paid reality show or news hosts. Ellen Degeneres takes the top spot earning $50 million every year.
We first fell in love with 13-year-old Evie Clair when she performed on America’s Got Talent this past spring.
It wasn’t only her beautiful voice that captured America’s heart, but the story of her family’s struggle struck a cord with viewers across the country.
A year before the show aired, her father was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and was given a 5 chance to live. He continued to work and support his family in spite of his terminal diagnosis.
His daughter sang a moving rendition of Arms by Christina Perri, which brought the audience and judges to their feet.
She continued through Judge Cuts where she again won the hearts of Simon, Mel, Heidi and Howie.
See her beautiful performance of I Try by Macy Gray:
She went on to the Live Show, where she delivered a beautiful performance in spite of her father not being able to travel to watch it live.
Her father may have not been able to travel, but he was still watching from his hospital bed.
“Good luck baby,” he said. “I’m sorry I missed it live.”
And we’re sure he wouldn’t have missed this moment:
She went onto the Semi-Finals where she was able to connect with the audience, yet again.
Evie made it through to the Finals, with the Dunkin’ Save which required viewers to vote on Wednesday night.
But in spite of her success on the AGT stage, before she was able to give her performance in the Finals, she was faced with the unthinkable off screen.
Evie’s father, Armos Abplanalp, didn’t let his terminal cancer diagnosis stop him from working as a prison counselor and a bishop at their church.
The father of 5 children, was given a 5 chance of survival, after her received his stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis.
On the Saturday, before her Semi-Final performance, Evie posted a photo of her father in his hospital bed, asking for prayers and support as he battled the disease.
“My amazing dad needs prayers and good thoughts tonight, so I’m asking all of you. Thank you friends,” she wrote.
After the show on Tuesday, they were informed that Amos’s organs were failing and he was being placed on life support. He wasn’t believed to make it through the night. With his wife and daughter in a hotel waiting for the results show on Wednesday, they prayed he would live long enough for them to get home to see him.
Directly after the results show on Wednesday, Evie and her mother were flown home by America’s Got Talent to be with their ailing loved one.
On Thursday, the day after Evie made it into the finals, Hillary Abplanalp and their family made the decision to take her husband off of life support.
“When our faithful children arrived we explained the situation and asked for their council in making this decision. They all agreed with tear filled eyes. We gave them each time alone with dad before turning off life-sustaining machines,” Hillary wrote.
“We watched him take his last breaths as he continued to breathe for about 15 minutes on his own,” Hillary wrote. “The children burst into tears but are now at home laughing at old home movies of Daddy and remembering our great love for the most wonderful man any of us have ever known.”
This tragedy in their life has then turning to their faith for support.
“We find constant peace and joy in the knowledge that Jesus Christ paid the price of death so that it has no lasting victory. We will be with Amos again and we feel he can now be with us without the restrictions of his mortal body. Our faith in the Savior has grown today and our family has been strengthened forever,” Hillary wrote.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Evie Clair and her family at this time.
While we are used to seeing happy endings coming from everything the Property Brothers touch, it wasn’t always the case in their lives off screen.
The 39-year-old brothers open up in their new tell-all book, It Takes Two: Our Story about their road to fame and the bumps along the way. The book released in early September has already made it onto the New York Times bestseller list.
“We wanted this to be an honest, unedited, unadulterated look at what our lives are like,” he said. “I think fans would feel like something was missing if we edited anything out. It was important for us to make it whole.”
The main lesson that Jonathan wants people to take away from the book is: “I think it’s important for people to realize that failure is part of success.”
That’s why it was so important that they we honest in their writings.
“We didn’t want to cut anything out of the book,” Jonathan says in this week’s issue of PEOPLE. “We talk about all the highs and all the lows.”
Before the success of their popular TV show Property Brothers, the twins learned tough financial lessons, where Jonathan had to file for bankruptcy and Drew racked up $100K in debt.
“We had been doing real estate for some time, but I missed my passion, acting,” Drew explains. “I went to Vancouver to pursue that, and I was taking acting courses, networking and doing all the things I had to do to make sure that I was being seen.”
After only a year, he realized he was now thousands of dollars in debt.
“In the end, that experience was really important because it created the buzz for our first auditions,” he says, “which got us on TV and made it worth it.”
Meanwhile Jonathan was pursing his dream of becoming a magician, until his collection of props and equipment was stolen, effectively putting him out of business.
“It really turned out to be a game-changer for us, because we realized how any reckless decision you make can leave you vulnerable,” he says. “Now we’ve put due diligence in and strengthened our financial situation.”
It wasn’t just their bank accounts that were taking a hit in the early days, they were striking out in love, which meant a divorce for one of the brothers.
In 2007 Jonathan married Kelsy Ully, an airline-crew scheduler, but two years later the relationship was over.
The couple had moved to Las Vegas where Jonathan was pursing magic and real estate while his wife was working as a waitress and model. The couple gradually grew apart, and marriage counselling couldn’t save their marriage.
“Being married was a huge part of my life,” he said. “I spent six-and-a-half years with someone, and it didn’t work. Anyone in a long-term relationship knows how hard that is.”
If that wasn’t bad enough, Jonathan found out that his marriage was ending by scrolling through Facebook. As it turns out his wife had wiped her profile of any trace of him including her relationship status from “married” to blank, and he knew that wasn’t a good sign.
“It’s not easy seeing someone you love going through a really hard time,” Drew says. “When Jonathan was with his ex, we didn’t see him as much as we wanted to. Our family is very, very close, so to bring him back into the fold and let him know we’re all here for support was a big thing. I said, ‘Nope, you are not sitting at home. Get your butt out here. You’re coming with me, and we’re hanging out.’ ”
His divorce dragged on in a four-year legal battle that got really ugly.
He was able to get past it and doesn’t hold any resentment to his ex.
“The split isn’t something I dwell on anymore, but for one too-long, too-dark period of my life, that’s practically all I did,” he continued. “It shook me right to my core.”
Looking back at his life-changing heartbreak, Jonathan reflects that the experience has helped him appreciate his relationship now.
“After that I felt defeated, but I learned a lot,” he says. “I don’t think I could enjoy what I have today with Jacinta if I hadn’t gone through a failed marriage.”
Despite their failures and hard times, the twins bounced back to become huge stars in the home improvement and DIY TV world.
Now that they have achieved success in their professional lives, they’re looking at the next steps in their personal lives, as well.
Drew and his fiancee, Linda Phan, recently bought a house in Los Angeles and are busy planning their destination wedding.
Jonathan is living with long-term girlfriend, Jacinta Kuznetsov, and is already thinking about kids.
“Of all the success and everything we’ve achieved, I think I’ll be a great dad,” says Jonathan. “That’s going to be exciting.”
The two live together between Las Vegas and Toronto, but are also house-hunting in New York City.
“We definitely want to get married and have kids, but we’re just finding joy in our relationship and still learning about each other as well,” says Jonathan. “We’ve only been dating a year and a half, but I don’t think we’ll wait seven years like Drew did before we decide what we’re going to do.”
With multiple HGTV shows and seemingly healthy relationships, it safe to say that the Scott brothers have become quite successful in spite of their rocky start.
“We didn’t come from a wealthy family or anything like that. We had to work hard for every single penny,” Drew added. “That’s something that can show people, through the good times and bad times, if you have a good support net and you do really stick to your guns and go hard after your goals, you will achieve them.”
The teen singer, braved the stage with a moving performance on Tuesday night, in honor of her late father, by singing his favorite song.
“The happiest memories are my family gathered around the piano singing together,” Clair said during the performance show. “Music brought love and brought us closer together, even through the hardest times. My dad was one of the bravest people I knew, he always taught us to follow our dreams…My dad taught me after I started something to always finish it, that’s why I’m fighting to the end just like he did.”
Evie’s father passed away on September 7 after battling Stage 4 colon cancer for roughly a year.
“Families are Forever,” she captioned her Facebook post from last Thursday.
She dedicated several of her performances to her father, including her audition song, Christina Perri’s “Arms.”
As one of the top 10 performers, she was competing live at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood for the $1 million prize.
“Evie coming back was unbelievable,” Cowell told E! News. “I saw her before the show came on, you know she was nervous, but I do believe genuinely it was what her dad would’ve wanted and it was the best she’s ever sung.”
Evie’s father, Amos Abplanalp commitment to his faith and work inspired his family and community to remain united even after his passing.
“He’s been a big example of not giving up and spending your time wisely,” Evie said.
Amos and his wife Hillary have raised their five children in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he continued to serve as bishop even after his stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis.
“Love my daddy. #cancersucks,” she wrote on Facebook.
His example of perseverance has been a leading example to help Evie and her family face the tough challenges ahead.
“It’s good to be back in LA after a difficult week saying goodbye to my dad. I am with the AGT finalists at Universal Studios this morning doing some live news spots for NBC and feeling okay,” she wrote.

America’s Got Talent fans have crowned the winner of season 12, but there were some mixed emotions when some fan-favorites were eliminated.
There was a plethora of talent to choose from on the stage with year, with singers, dancers, a comedian, and a dog act for America to choose from.
With 52-million votes cast ahead of Wednesday’s results show, it proved the top ten finalists had some competition for the crown.
Kechi Okwuchi, Evie Clair, Angelica Hale, Chase Goehring, Mandy Harvey, Preacher Lawson, Darci Lynne Farmer, Diavolo, Light Balance and Sarah & Hero performed for your votes for the final time at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, and they each made it a difficult choice to crown a winner.
“My dad always told me after I started something, to always finish it. That’s why I’m fighting until the end, just like he did,” Evie said.
She sang “What a Wonderful World” as a tribute to her late father, since it was his favorite song.
Mandy is a Deaf singer that previously in the night performed a duet with Shania Twain.
After losing her hearing when she was 18-years-old, she told her story of her intense soul-searching to reunite herself with her passion.
“After I lost my hearing I gave up, but I want to do more with my life than just give up,” she said, “[I] figured out how to get back into singing with muscle memory, using visual turners and trusting my pitch.”
She brought the audience to tears in her audition which caused Simon Cowell to hit the Golden Buzzer.
Kechi, also a young singer, has a story that most people can’t even dream of enduring. When she was just 16-years-old she was on board a flight that crashed over Nigeria, claiming the lives of 107 passengers. She was just 1 of 2 survivors of the crash.
“Lying in the hospital bed with bandages from head to foot. Not being able to more or do anything else, music was my escape. And that’s why it means so much to me,” Okwuchi told the AGT judges.
She continued to stun audiences during her performances, which left many people wondering how she didn’t make it into the top 3.
@Kechi I am so proud of you. You have shown America to never give up. You too are an inspiration to everyone. This is just the beginning.💜💜💜
So what did the winner deliver that put them over these fan favorites?
Imagine being a 12-year-old performer standing in the national spotlight and being told you just won $1 million dollars and are heading to headline a show at the Mirage hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Crying isn’t a shocking reaction at all.
As Darci Lynne describes the moment after the show, “It was waterworks right here on this face. It was like a water faucet.”
Standing next to her friend, and runner up, Angelica Hale, all the feelings she had bottled up all just came flooding out.
It wasn’t until her family ran onstage to celebrate with her, that she noticed her younger brother had tears in his eyes too.
I’m really, really happy because my little brother cried and he’s never cried before,” she said. “And it made me laugh too, because I’m like, ‘You’re crying, man. You’re crying.’”
Runner up Angelica Hale also shared in the tears of joy in an Instagram post.
The young ventriloquist stole the hearts of Americans and the judges with her hilarious and singing puppets.
She impressed judge Mel B, who used her coveted Golden Buzzer to send her from auditions straight to the live shows.
“I was very, very shy but America’s Got Talent has given me a voice and more confidence than I could ever have,” Farmer said in her video package before she made the top five on Wednesday.

Once she had pulled herself together, she was ready to share her exciting dreams about what she will do with her winnings.
“I have to get my mom a dishwasher, and maybe get a fridge along with it,” Farmer said. “I want a pug so bad, because I love puppies and it’s been a long time since I had a puppy. They have wrinkles and fat rolls and they’re so cute.”
Congrats on the big win Darci!

If you can’t get enough of hit DIY shows like Fixer Upper and and Flip or Flop then you will be excited to hear about the exciting news coming out of Rehab Addict.
The popular show is getting ready for season 8, which premiered on October 4 and we can’t help but get excited. Fans can expect the same no nonsense attitude that they love from all their favorite HGTV and DIY network series, with a familiar face.
Nicole Curtis has been the host of Rehab Addict since it first aired in 2010. Her passion for saving old homes in Detroit and Minneapolis is at the heart of her renovation show and what captivates us week after week.
In addition to giving old houses a face-lift, Nicole is a real estate agent.
A surprise pregnancy in late 2014, resulted in her youngest son Harper’s birth. After Harper was born, maternity leave wasn’t an option for Curtis.
“We had contracts to get through,” Curtis explains. “I went from giving birth to filming and building, then we did the Ransom Gillis special in Detroit,” which aired between seasons six and seven.
That’s when Curtis decided she needed a break. Between the death of her grandmother and an intense custody battle over her toddler, Curtis had a lot on her plate. She became estranged with her parents and things took an ugly turn.
“Our situation is absolutely horrifying and heartbreaking. I can’t say anymore to that,” said Curtis at the time.
In the year that Rehab Addict has been off the air, Curtis has had a chance to regroup and sort things out with her family. She has become an advocate for single moms, something that she has had experience in since she was 17.
“I would give anything to have a husband that loved me and supported me and, you know, took the kids out for pizza while I designed, but I just have never had that,” she says.
Curtis grew up outside of Detroit and left home at 17 to head to college. She and her boyfriend at the time settled in Tampa, where they bought the house that would become the future HGTV star’s first renovation. While the relationship didn’t work out, it resulted in Curtis’s first child, Ethan.
When she was younger, Curtis didn’t have much money to spare. She credits this lack of finances to her creativity and getting her into DIY projects.
“I’ve always decorated very eclectically, partly because I was poor. Being poor makes you very creative. When you have money, you don’t have to be creative. I love garage sale finds, I love vintage furniture,” she said.
Working odd jobs, while flipping a home on the side, Curtis caught the attention of a production company that pitched her to HGTV. Rehab Addict debuted in October 2010 and we have been hooked ever since.
“There are people who think that all of this came easily,” Curtis says of her decision to pen a memoir. “I want them to know I was working for $9.75 an hour at Banana Republic, I was waiting tables, I was cleaning toilets.”
She also spent her time off teasing us about what is coming up in this season of the show!
After staining a stair rail at one of the two homes that were featured in the premiere, Curtis ran into a problem.
“This looks dumb, I didn’t catch it until I stained that piece,” she says, realizing that the new look on the rail doesn’t match the nearby windowsill and entryway. “These need to be oak.”
She also likes to show off that they have fun while filming.
Nicole also hosts a show with David Bromstad and Josh Temple called Beach Flip.
Jana Duggar, the eldest Duggar daughter, has never been in a courtship. At least not one that has been made public. But some suggestive new photos on the family’s social media pages could be hinting that this has changed.
The 27-year-old has been linked to family friend Zach Bates, and more famously, NFL and MLB star Tim Tebow, but she never announced an official courtship. Jana doesn’t seem to phased about her romantic life, however.
“I don’t really know what the next five years look like,” she said. “I guess in some ways [I’ve] got hopes and dreams like, ‘Well, maybe I’ll meet the one, and get married and have kids.’ I’m not just out to get married to the first one that comes along. I mean, sometimes it can be tempting. … [Especially] in those moments where your siblings, who are married and have little ones, are going out on dates and doing their things.”
Jana Duggar is often referred to as “Cinderella” by people who follow the show, as she’s the one left to do chores and take care of the kids while everyone else lives their lives.
But it’s not like Jana has nothing going on in her life without a man. She recently purchased an old tattoo parlor for $95,000 and reports claim she’ll be opening her own business. As for what that business is, it’s unclear. But at least she’s got business aspirations and plans on supporting herself, regardless of her marital status!
Now, photos circulating on the family’s social media are hinting that Jana Duggar has finally found someone special.
Caleb Williams is presumed to be Jana’s new love interest, and these pictures will tell you why.
Fans were first introduced to Williams in a relatively unflattering way. The Duggars posted a photo on their Facebook page of a family dinner, and they noticed an unknown man whose underwear was showing.
Fans were quick to jump on his as sloppy and unkempt, but Williams identified himself as the man in the picture and apologized for the incident.
“To all the folks out there wondering: No, I had no idea my unmentionables were hanging out,” he wrote in his response. “In the future, I will probably triple check to verify the integrity of my outer garments before any such pictures are snapped and shared. Typically our society as a whole frowns upon any color of boxers being exposed in formal style dress. My apologies to anyone that suffered from nightmares or any other egregious symptoms due to the excessive skin and dyed cotton exposure. Thank you everyone for the thoughts and advice!”
Williams, who many sources say is a rebel, might have a hard time convincing Jim Bob Duggar that he’s husband material. The small business owner is far more liberal than the Duggar family, who are public about their extreme conservative views.
The next piece of evidence that Caleb and Jana are courting is that he’s been posting about the Duggars for about a month, even going to a football game with Jim Bob.
Williams has even been spending time with the kids, even those of Josh Duggar, who has kept a low profile since his sex scandal.
Though no confirmation has been made by the family, one thing is certain: Caleb Williams is becoming close with the family, and that usually only happens when a guy is courting one of the daughters.
