12 Times “Cutthroat Kitchen” Sabotages Came From Satan Himself

Cutthroat Kitchen quickly rose to become one of the most popular shows on the Food Network. Hosted by Alton Brown, four chefs compete against each other to win a cash prize. Each chef starts with $25,000 and as the show goes on, they can buy sabotages for their fellow contestants. They have to be careful, though. If they do end up winning, they only take home whatever is left of their $25,000.

Food Network

But sometimes the sabotages contestants are given seem to cruel, even for a TV show that is literally about being cutthroat. These are some of the most intense sabotages to ever be thrown at contestants.

Food Network

One chef had to make gnocchi with his dominant hand taped to a potato masher. It was all fine until he ended up getting his hand stuck in the oven handle. Alton had to help him out, but it took a little time to get free.

Food Network

This sabotage has popped up a few times, and it’s pretty terrible. Chefs have to make all their cooking utensils, pots, and pans, from giant balls of tinfoil before they start cooking. Not ideal, to say the least.

Food Network

What’s more complicated than making crepes? Making crepes in a pan that is bent out of shape. Good luck getting that perfectly round shape and thin consistency.

Food Network

You only have 30 seconds to shop in Cutthroat Kitchen, which is hard enough in itself. But sometimes contestants lose their ingredients to a sabotage, and that’s exactly what happened here. This chef had to collect ingredients by inserting quarters into a gumball machine and hoping for the best.

Twitter

Having to cook in a kitchen with four other chefs running around can be tricky, but it become even worse when all your cooking has to be done inside a two-level cat house. One chef on top, one on the bottom, both in agony.

Food Network

Now, I’ve never had to chisel anything out of a brick of ice before, but I don’t think it’s that easy. I’d be willing to bet that the chefs who had to chisel all their ingredients out of an ice block, then cook an entire meal all in a span of 30 minutes would agree with me.

Food Network

Moving around in a ball pat is a lot harder than we remember it being as kids. Unfortunately for this chef, he had to prep his entire meal while inside of one. Those balls aren’t the most solid of work spaces, so it was a bit of a struggle.

Food Network

One episode was Superbowl themed, and all the dishes were somehow related to sports. The sabotages were also particularly awful, like when two chefs had to abandon their cooking stations and make chicken wings while on bleachers. Not only that, but they could only use ingredients they found “leftover” on the stands, like a half-eaten hot dog.

Food Network

Club sandwiches are a pretty standard sandwich, but there is nothing standard about having to cut and prep everything using run-of-the-mill golf clubs. In fact, some might say it’s downright evil!

Food Network

The tiny kitchen is a Cutthroat Kitchen fan favorite, where chefs have to cook their entire meal from a pint-sized kitchen that even a toddler would find small. Everything always comes out miniature, and chefs will spend a lot of money to avoid this sabotage.

Food Network

There aren’t many times in a day when I would say no to an ice cream cone, but I might have to if it meant I also had to wear the cone of shame.

In this particular instance, Chef Kyle chose not to spend ANY of his money on sabotages because he wanted to try and win the full $25,000.

Food Network

Swinging hammocks are definitely relaxing, unless of course you have to cook an entire meal on one. One chef had to prepare his pineapple upside down cake on a swinging hammock, and it was the least relaxing a hammock has ever been.

The chef’s tools kept falling through the holes, and he couldn’t keep anything standing up.

What do you think the worst sabotage is?

5 Reasons You Definitely Shouldn’t Get Back with your Ex

Exes are a tricky thing to navigate. The adult in you wants to be mature about it and see the good, but the child in you wants to post embarrassing Snapchat screenshots of them all over social media. There’s a very delicate balance that needs to be reached. But sometimes there’s a nagging little voice in your head that says “Well…maybe he just needs a second chance?” Ehhhh, probably not your best idea. But I can understand how confusing it all can be. So here’s a list of reasons why it’s probably a good reason to stay away.

You may be the one dating him, but your friends are the ones that have to accept him for who he is without the promise of cuddles at the end of the night. If your friends don’t like the guy you’re dating, there’s probably a great reason why. Sure, sometimes friends can be over-protective, but it doesn’t mean they’re wrong. You need to listen when they say, “Hey, listen. Jeremy tried to set the house on fire last night while you were in the bathroom.” You can’t just play that off as him trying to warm the place up because you said it was cold.

“He probably didn’t answer right away because he was saving the life of a drowning kitten and his phone fell into the river.” Honey, you and I both know that you live in the middle of the city with no close bodies of water. And I’m also pretty sure his phone is glued to his hands. The more you have to make up excuses for unanswered texts, blown off plans, or just a bad attitude in general, the higher the chance he’s just an idiot and you deserve better.

I get it. We all do. The older you get and the longer you’ve been single, the more you crave having someone to be with. And it’s not because you can’t live independently, but it would just be nice to have someone who wants you. But that is no excuse to get back into a bad relationship. Embrace the alone time. Sleep like a starfish, eat on the couch, wear sweatpants all the time. It’s better to be by yourself and happy, than be with someone else and miserable.

If you have actually come to terms with a breakup and then find yourself catching new and improved™ feelings for the guy, then okay maybe you can THINK about giving another chance. But if you never got over him to begin with, odds are you’re just running off feelings fumes. They can last a long time, trust me. Getting over someone is an important step in the healing process. You can’t try and restart a relationship using the feelings from a bad one.

Princess Diaries gave us a sure-fire way to know if a guy is “the one.” Does he make your foot pop? It’s when you have a perfect moment with a perfect man and your foot just…pops. Full-blown pop, too. Not a hover, or a twitch. A full fairy-tale pop. If your ex doesn’t do that for you, then it’s not meant to be. Your gut always knows what’s best for you, or in this case your reflexes. It may seem like a weird way to pick a romantic partner, Anne Hathaway ends up with Chris Pine in the Princess Diaries movies so it’s definitely worth taking a chance on.

10 Of The Worst Re-Casted TV Roles No One Thought We Would Notice

You can make the argument that people who watch too much TV lose brain cells. But I don’t think anyone can claim you lose SO many brain cells you can’t tell the difference between two people?

Apparently, that’s what all these shows thought. Each one of the shows on this list re-casted a lead character at some point in the series and just went on with life as though nothing happened.

But something did happen. And you bet your butt we noticed. Here are some of the worst re-casted roles on television.

1. Aunt Viv on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

The role was originated by Janet Hubert, who played Aunt Viv for three seasons. But then season 4 hit and we were given Daphne Maxwell Reid. According to Hubert, Will Smith was hard to work with and tried to screw everyone out of their contracts, which is why she ultimately left.

2. Lily Tucker-Pritchett on Modern Family

Twins Jaden and Ella Hiller were replaced as Lily after season one of the hit show. Aubrey Anderson-Emmons came in and stole our hearts, but we were kind of hoping Modern Family would give us a new set of Olsen twins to love. We get it, though. Sitcoms are dependent on people actually speaking and delivering funny lines, which babies can’t really do.

3. Darrin Stephens on Bewitched

Dick York was replaced as Darrin Stephens after it came to light that he suffered from an excruciating back problem. Scenes would be rewritten so he was sitting or lying down because York was in so much pain. At one point, he collapsed on set which is when the shows producers asked if he wanted to quit. York said yes. Enter: Dick Sargent. The audience didn’t really love the switch, and the show was cancelled soon after.

4. Claire Kyle on My Wife And Kids

Lots of speculation circled when Jazz Raycole was replaced after the first season. People were saying it’s because her skin was too dark to appeal to a wide audience, but the real reason is because her mother disapproved of a teen pregnancy storyline in the second season. Jennifer Freeman replaced Raycole on the show. It was only ever acknowledged once, with her TV dad saying “I don’t know what it is, but you look like a whole new person.”

5. Jesus Foster from The Fosters

Jake T. Austin found himself in a bit of trouble after getting a DUI. Being a family channel, ABC didn’t want to have that image on their network so the character was recast. Noah Centineo replaced him after the character of Jesus spent almost a full season at boarding school so he wouldn’t have to appear in any episodes. Centineo was introduced at the end of the season, with everyone calling his name and embracing him (just in case you’re like me and had no idea who he was supposed to be.)

6. Becky Conner on Roseanne

Lecy Goranson originated the role, but during the 5th season she decided to attend Vassar College. In weird TV happening, Sarah Chalke was brought in to alternate the role of Becky with Goranson depending on the original actress’ availability. Eventually the show brought on Chalke full-time, but not until many seasons of the alternating duo.

7. Morgan Matthews on Boy Meets World

Lily Nicksay played the adorable little sister on Boy Meets World for its first two seasons. Morgan disappeared for a bit and when she reappeared she was played by Lindsay Ridgeway. There was never any real explanation as to why Nicksay left, but we can all agree she was the best Morgan out of the two. More cute, less bratty.

8.Chris Partridge on The Partridge Family

After the first season, Jeremy Gelbwaks was replaced by Brian Forster due to his personality. According to his co-star David Cassidy, Gelbwaks “had a personality conflict with every person in the cast and the producers.” Yikes. He was only 9 at the time, so he must have been pretty snotty to receive that kind of criticism.

9. Carol Willick on Friends

Ross Gellar’s ex-wife/lesbian/baby mama, Carol, was originated by Anita Barone in the pilot episode. According to a few sources, Barone left the show because she was bitter about not getting a leading role (which is what she auditioned for.) The role was replaced by Jane Sibbett for the rest of the series. She was great and frankly more fun.

10. Miss Ellie, on Dallas

Barbara Bel Geddes was the first star signed to the TV show Dallas. She played Miss Ellie until 1983, when she had to have emergency quadruple bypass surgery. She was replaced by Donna Reed for the 1984-85 season. But fans didn’t take to well to the replacement, so Bel Geddes was brought back for the 1985-1986 season. She is the only cast member of the show to win an Emmy for her performance.

The Duggars Have A Lengthy Process For Potential Mates

If you thought dating a Duggar was going to be easy, think again.

The Duggar family was made famous after their TLC show, 19 Kids and Counting, gave everyone a glimpse into their…old-fashioned? and religious lifestyle. Girls only wear skirts, everyone is home schooled, limited electronics use. You know, the usual. The show was abruptly cancelled after it was revealed that oldest son Josh Duggar molested at least two of his sisters and paid for prostitutes.

In a new episode of their web series, Counting On, it was revealed that dad Jim-Bob Duggar requires all potential boyfriends to fill out a 50 page questionnaire before anything can happen.

There are already strict courting rules for the girls, which basically doesn’t let ANYTHING happen ’til marriage. These are the basic courting rules:

  • It’s not “casual,” the Duggars call courting “dating with a purpose.”
  • Group dates only, no one-on-one time until marriage
  • There always has to be a chaperone, and it’s usually one of the brothers
  • Group texts only, and they have to involve mom and dad
  • No kissing or hand holding in order to avoid “regrets” should the relationship fall apart

The reveal of the questionnaire was a bit of an accident, honestly. It seemed to just slip out of everyone’s mouth. But after it came out there was no turning back. Jim Bob casually mentioned the document during an after-show interview. The producer instantly interrupted the daddy Duggar to have him clarify.

“I’m sorry, wait a second Jim Bob made you guys fill out questionnaires?” he asked.

It was confirmed by his daughters Jill and Jessa that the document does, indeed, exist. Jill even let everyone know that the document used to be 30 pages long, but was recently expanded to 50. The questionnaire focuses mainly on the potential suitor’s religious beliefs and how they pertain to their lifestyle.

Jinger Duggar recently got engaged to soccer player Jeremy Vuolo says the most time-consuming question was “tell me about how you became a Christian, how you came to the Lord.” Jinger and Jeremy have come under fire recently after some people believe they broke the rules of courtship on multiple occasions.

But I guess when your older brother is a child molester, your parents can’t get too mad at you for holding hands before marriage.

Do you think this document is a good way to find the ‘perfect’ match? Or is it a ridiculous form of brainwashing? Let us know in the comments!

Simon Tells Him To Stop Singing, But His Next Words Send Everyone Into Tears

Christian Burrows auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, holding onto a secret that would end up affecting his chances at moving forward.

The 19-year-old bartender was only young when his little brother, Nathan, passed away at just two months old. But the thought of what could have been still sits with Christian to this day.

When Christian was on the reality show, he stood in front of the panel of judges and sang a John Denver song. Simon stopped him, saying he wasn’t quite sure of the singer’s talent.

However, instead of saying no and moving forward with their auditions, Simon requested that Christian sing a new song instead.

Instead of choosing a song that was popular, Christian mentioned that he writes his own songs, drawing inspiration from Ed Sheeran.

The judges suggested he sing that song, but Christian seemed hesitant at first.

So why the hesitation?

“It’s a song that means everything to me, and only my mum’s heard it,” he said. The song was about his brother Nathan, and the life they could have had together.

Simon said it was up to Christian if he wanted to sing it, but the young man felt he was ready.

The second he opened his mouth, the mood changed. There was a passion in his voice that wasn’t there before. The judges were all moved to tears.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger had to wipe away tears while listening to Christian Burrows perform.

“I don’t know how you did that, but I think it was important that you did do it actually because it told me who you were as an artist and actually as a person and you’ve got a real talent,” said Simon.

Christian’s family was all waiting in the wings. He is one of eight kids in the family, so the song hit everyone hard. But once he made it through, the entire group rushed in to congratulate their brother.

Take a look at the video. It’s an emotional performance and one that will definitely go down as one of the most memorable in history.

Biggest Pop Star In The World  Just Made A Shocking Announcement

The biggest pop star in the entire world just made a shocking announcement.

Beyonce has announced she is pregnant…with TWINS!

The Grammy award winner shared a post on Instagram letting the world know that her and her husband, Jay-Z Carter, were expecting two bundles of joy in the coming months.

The couple already has one child, 5-year-old Blue Ivy Carter, who will now be getting not one but TWO siblings.

Beyonce, 35, and Jay-z, 47, started dating in 2003 and have been together ever since. They are considered one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) power couple in both the music industry and Hollywood.

Congratulations to the Carter family! We hope everything goes well.

Welcome To The Voice Family – Pharell Williams Is Expecting Triplets

Having one child is exciting enough, but adding a set of adorable triplets to your life is a huge milestone. Luckily this happy couple seem like great parents.

Pharell has three new reasons to be happy, since news has has broken that the former judge on The Voice and his wife, model Helen Lasichanh, have welcomed triplets into their family.

Lasichanh gave birth to the two boys and one girl earlier this month. There’s no word on their names yet, but a publicist says the triplets and their mother are all happy and healthy.

The couple already have an 8-year-old son named Rocket, so maybe we can expect something like Sun, Moon and Star?

Congrats to the happy couple!

You Probably Didn’t Realize This Actor Was In All Your Favorite Movies

One of the shortest leading men (if not the shortest) in the film has been in so many of your favorite movies, but you almost never see his real face. This actor has been in everything from Star Wars to Harry Potter, but would you even know his name?

Warwick Davis is an incredibly successful actor whose name you may not recognize but you will definitely know the characters he has played.

1. Wicket in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi

He was only 11 when he was cast in this movie and originally he wasn’t supposed to be the main Ewok, but after another cast member fell ill he was chosen as the replacement.

2. Part of the Goblin Corps in Labrinth

3. Willow Ufgood in Willow

This was the first time anyone could actually see his face in a movie, but still a lot of people don’t remember him!

4. The Leprechaun in the movie called Leprechaun

Have you ever heard of this movie? This is also one of Jennifer Aniston’s first movies!

5. Wald in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace

He has been in so many Star Wars movie and never as the same charcter! He was actually three separate characters in this one movie.

6. Professor Flitwick in Harry Potter Series

Now Flitwick got quite the makeover throughout the series. Maybe in the wizarding world you age in reverse, but Flitwick in the first movie looks A LOT older than Flitwick in the last movie.

7. Griphook in the Harry Potter series

He replaced Verne Troyer as Griphook for the final Harry Potter movie.

8. Marvin in The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy

Although the character was voiced by Alan Rickman (aka professor Snape)

9. Wollivan in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

He will actually be in the next Star Wars as well.

10. Weeteef in Rogue One

He must really get along with the Star Wars fans!

Share if you knew that this one actor played all these characters!

Where Are The Cast Of Dog The Bounty Hunter Today?

Over 8 seasons of Dog The Bounty Hunter, Duane “Dog” Chapman became one of TV’s most famous crime fighters.

Every week, Dog and his extended family of bounty hunters at Da Kine Bail Bonds in Hawaii would track down people who’d skip bail, arrest them, and share an important message about second chances.

Fans couldn’t get enough of his wild looks, the show’s emotional family drama, and the exciting hunts. But what are Dog and his family up to these days? Catch up on everything you missed since dog and his crazy family went off the air.

Leland and Duane Lee Jr.

Dog’s sons were on nearly every episode of the show, but fans may remember their dramatic split with the family in 2012. They both quit while taping an episode, and while some people thought it was just part of the show, this split was for real.

Duane moved to Florida and opened up his bounty hunting business, while Leland opened his own back in Hawaii. Leland did reunite with Dog and Beth on their new show, On The Hunt, but in the series finale he announced he was moving to Alabama to make a fresh start for himself.

Lyssa Chapman

“Baby” Lyssa ended up on the wrong side of the law when she was arrested for criminal property damage and harassment in 2011. Dog’s daughter was caught breaking a window and knocked a police officer’s phone out of his hands.

Dog and Beth refused to bail her out to teach her a lesson, and it may have helped turn her life around for good. She wrote a book about life in her famous family in 2013.

Beth

Beth had her own run-in with the law in 2013 when she got into a shouting match with some noisy teenagers in Colorado. After she left, the teens called the cops on her and Beth ended up being charged with harassment.

There was even a warrant out for her arrest after she didn’t pick up her summons to court, but thankfully she turned herself in. If Dog had to arrest his own wife, that would have made for a really awkward episode.

Dog

Dog’s fans won’t be surprised to learn that the TV star has had some crazy adventures since his show ended.

In 2011, when Hollywood actor Nick Cage was arrested for domestic abuse, Dog bailed him out and helped put his life back on the straight and narrow.

Dog also picked up where he left off with a new series called Dog and Beth: On The Hunt, which featured Dog and his Wife traveling across America sharing advice with other bounty hunters.

After he left the show in 2015, Dog has become a lobbyist, working to make laws less restrictive for bounty hunters across America.

29 Terrible Celebrity Wax Figures No One Can Identify

Wax figures of celebrities are a pretty common tourist attraction in big cities. The problem is, the statues do not always come out looking like anyone, therefore defeating the purpose of having a celebrity lookalike.

I admit, it must be quite challenging to make one of these. I can’t even draw anything more than a stick person myself, so the fact that they are trying is admirable. However some of these hardly look human, let alone like the famous people they are supposed to look like.

“This Is Us” Star Only Had 81 Cents Before Auditioning

If you thought your bank account was low, “This Is Us” star Chrissy Metz revealed she only had 81 cents in her account when she went in for the audition to play Kate Pearson.

Metz, who has shot to fame with her role on the hit NBC drama, says she was riddled with credit card debt and was nearly homeless before she landed the part.

Although Metz appeared in the popular American Horror Story, she said there weren’t any job opportunities or auditions for her once her role was over.

But the actress says it was her mom’s supportive advice that made her keep going: “You can either be miserable here and not pursue your dreams, or you can be miserable in L.A. and at least pursue what you want.”

In an interview with glamour, Metz described what her life was coming to before Kate Pearson:

“I kept auditioning, with no savings and no money, credit card debt gaining interest. I went on unemployment. I bought ramen noodles at dollar stores. I never had to—God forbid—live on the streets; I moved in with a roommate who told me, “Stay with me until you can afford rent. Don’t give up.” People who supported me were like, “If you don’t have money for food, I’ll cook you dinner. You don’t have money for acting class? Let’s get together and read lines.” I am so grateful that I had such an amazing support system, but when I booked This Is Us, I had 81 cents in my bank account. I could cry right now just thinking about it.”

“I’ve had women — average women, older women, teenagers — who say to me, ‘Your role and this show has changed my life.’ That makes all the struggle, all the ramen noodles, all the times when I couldn’t pay my bills, all the times where I was like, ‘I can’t do this,’ worth it,” Metz said. “Sometimes I cry on the way to the set still. There is something that happens when you are grateful: You continue to keep receiving blessings. So I will always be grateful.”

Metz has certainly come a long way from her 81 cents. The Golden Globe nominated actress and her show have been picked up for another 36 episodes. This Is Us is receiving international accolades.

Keep on being you, Chrissy Metz. Your strength is inspiring to people everywhere.

Jana Duggar Opens Up About Why She Isn’t Married Yet

There has been a lot of speculation as to why Jana Duggar, the oldest of the Duggar daughters, hasn’t yet gotten married.

The 27-year-old has been linked to family friend Zach Bates, and more famously, NFL and MLB star Tim Tebow, but she still has not announced an official courtship.

While 27 is still young, it’s worth noting that 3 of Jana’s sisters are already married (two of them already having kids of their own) and one other is in a courtship.

And it’s not like Jana is the one to go and find a man herself. Jim-Bob Duggar, her father, requires potential suitors to fill out a 50 page questionnaire before being considered to court one of his daughters.

However, Jana recently opened up about her love life (or lack thereof) after her younger sister, Joy-Anna, announced her pregnancy

“I don’t really know what the next five years look like. I guess in some ways [I’ve] got hopes and dreams like, ‘Well, maybe I’ll meet the one, and get married and have kids.’ I’m not just out to get married to the first one that comes along. I mean, sometimes it can be tempting. … [Especially] in those moments where your siblings, who are married and have little ones, are going out on dates and doing their things.”

Jana also seems to know exactly the kind of man she wants. She says she’d like her future husband to be a “hard-working guy versus an office job guy.”

Career wise, Jana has some things up her sleeve.

But it’s not like Jana has nothing going on in her life without a man. She recently purchased an old tattoo parlor for $95,000 and reports claim she’ll be opening her own business. As for what that business is, it’s unclear. But at least she’s got business aspirations and plans on supporting herself, regardless of her marital status!

Jana also co-wrote a book with her sisters Jinger, Jill, and Jessa, called “Growing Up Duggars.” The quartet did book signings across the country which kept them busy for a couple months.

As for the people who feel bad about Jana having to stay at home, she says she loves every minute of it. “I love working with children and I especially love being around new babies. You might think I get plenty of that, just being part of this big family, but I also volunteer at a children’s shelter to help entertain and visit with the little ones there. I love being the big sister to a houseful of siblings.”

So there you have it! Jana Duggar will get married when the right one comes along. But as for now, she’s just happy to play big sister to a houseful of kids.

Michael Buble Just Got Life-Changing News Regarding His Son

After a rough few months, Michael Buble’s family has something to celebrate!

According to Argentinian journalist, Tomas Dente, Noah’s aunt told him Noah is CANCER FREE!

The three-year-old has been battling liver cancer since late 2016, causing both Michael and his wife Lusiana have taken a break from show business. Michael recently dropped out of hosting the Brit Awards just weeks before the show (understandably), and is set to host the Juno awards in April.

This is the full statement made by Noah’s aunt, Daniela Lopilata:

“Yes, Noah is recovering and we’re very happy that’s the case. His parents will speak when they want to do so. The cancer has gone.”

The family themselves released this statement:

Prayers, as always, are with the Buble family.

Britney Spears’ Family Was Just Hit With Terrible News

Britney Spears and her family received some gut-wrenching news this weekend.

Spears’ 8-year-old niece, Maddie, was seriously injured in an ATV accident. Her condition is considered extremely serious.

Spears’ sister, and Maddie’s mom, Jamie Lynn, was not present at the time of the accident. Maddie was riding a Polaris off-road vehicle when it flipped over. The little girl was under water and unconscious for several minutes.

Maddie was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

There has been no update on Maddie’s condition at this time, but according to the family there have been a lot of incorrect reports.

Jamie Lynn released a statement, saying:

“The details the media are reporting surrounding the incident regarding Jamie Lynn’s daughter Maddie are incorrect. Right now the Spears family asks that everyone respect their privacy during this time and appreciates all the prayers and support for their family.”

It’s unclear which reports they are referring to.

Maddie’s grandfather said, “All I can say is pray for our baby Maddie” after confirming that to Entertainment Tonight that she is in serious condition.

Maddie is Jamie Lynn’s first child, born in 2009. Jamie Lynn was just 16 when she got pregnant with then-boyfriend Casey Aldridge. It was so controversial at the time that Jamie Lynn’s Nickelodeon show, Zoey 101, was cancelled due to the backlash.

Jamie Lynn has since married Jamie Watson in 2014, and the two have been happily married since.

This story is still developing. We are praying for Maddie, Jamie Lynn, and the rest of the Spears family.

17 Celebrities Who Tragically Lost Children

We like to imagine that if we were famous and wealthy our lives would be perfect, but that’s just not true.

Even celebrities live through personal tragedies, from breakups and setbacks to the worst tragedy of all, losing a child. You’ll remember some of these cases because they were very public, but others were kept private for years, or even decades.

16 Secrets They Didn’t Want You To Know About Getting On A Game Show

So many people dream of one day competing on a game show. Going on Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune seems like such a fun way to win a lot of money and test yourself. The problem is, how do you actually do it? It seems like one of those things that happens to other people but never to anyone you know.

The process of being on a game show is not as glamorous as you may have dreamed. Here are 16 secrets about the making of game shows that they don’t want you to know.

1. Anyone can take the online test to be on Jeopardy

There is an online test that has you answer 50 questions in 15 minutes. They don’t let you know how you did unless you get over their set percentage (rumor is 80-85) and then if you do you will be invited to an in-person audition.

2. Prize values tend to be inflated for effect

They tend to oversell items for effect but by doing so it will is actually making it worse for the winners because they will have to pay the taxes of the listed price. The contestants can try to argue for the real-market value in court but can take months to settle.

3. People will buy your prizes off you right after the show

Right after you leave the studio, there are apparently people who will offer you money for the stuff you just won. They however offer it at less than the inflated prices the game pretended it was worth but at least you won’t have to figure out how to get a year supply of Rice-A-Roni into your carry on.

4. The podiums for contestants are tricky

There is little adjustable platforms so everyone can be the same height. This will make the shooting a lot easier.

5. Taping the show is almost worse than jury duty.

When you are taping the show you are sequestered with your fellow contestants by network compliance officers who even follow you to the bathroom. You are not allowed to talk to audience member, the host or anyone. This is to prevent cheating but makes for a very long day.

6. They tape a weeks worth of shows PER DAY

Pat Sajak and Vanna White get little 15 minute breaks between shows so they can switch up their outfits and then they film some more.

7. You don’t always get the money right away.

Sure it looks like they hand the contestants a big wad of cash, but that is just for show. Instead they mail you a check after the fact.

8. And, they aren’t as surprised as they may seem

They are actually recruited to be on the show, it is all staged. They are often found at trivia nights and asked to be on the show.

9. The phone a friend option is kind of a huge deal.

You needed to have 5 different options of people who all had landlines and would be available for the entire day so it wouldn’t matter when your episode was filmed.

10. You CANNOT have a Plinko chip

Apparently there are only 10 in the world because they cost a lot to make. (Although I bet if Bob Barker asked for one they’d let him take one)

11. Even big shows like Jeopardy don’t pay for your stay

You don’t get any kind of compensation for your hotel or travel costs, so you better hope you win some money! At least even 2nd and 3rd prize get $2000 and $1000 respectively so there is something they can put towards flights.

12. Jeopardy will however do your makeup

They don’t want you to be shiny on camera so they will do your makeup. You do however have to do your own hair.

13. People get really angry at you whether you win or lose

People get REALLY invested in these games and will go after former contestants. After Ken Basin was on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and got the $1 million question wrong he says people were emailing him at his work address with comments like “Kill yourself, you’re an arrogant douche and you give lawyers a bad name.” That’s quite the reaction for people who get no benefit from him winning. A female contestant who was on Jeopardy shared that she receives a lot of creepy messages still over a year later of people making vulgar statements about her body and proposing marriage.

14. Certain contestants make a living out of playing game shows

Some contestants hop from game to game as long at the contracts they sign allow. Every once and a while they will need to take a year or two off between appearances but a lot of people have been on many different shows. It is tricky for new contestants to try to compete to make it in because the veterans are more comfortable with the audition process and have an easier time making it onto the show.

15. Things aren’t the same at filming as they are on TV.

The questions aren’t actually showing up on the screens for the contestants so they have to actually listen to Alex careful while keeping in mind the timing for the buzzer. Also they edit out any fumbles or challenges of wrong answers.

16. Producers are looking for specific people to fill the roles.

They want people who are excited, but not too excited that it seems fake. They also want you to look “TV-Ready” whatever that means and they want you to have some fun facts ready to go.

What do you think, would you ever want to go on a game show? Let us know in the comments!

Another Duggar Sister Has Given Birth

The Duggar kids club is certainly growing at a fast rate!

Jessa (Duggar) Seewald and her husband Ben Seewald welcomed their second child on February 6th at 4:26 in the morning!

“We are so happy to announce the arrival of our sweet second son,” the couple said in a statement. “He was born at 4:26 a.m. this morning, weighing 8 lbs. and 11 oz., and measuring 21 3/4 in. long. Mom and baby are both doing well. We are so thankful to God for this precious new gift of life and are excited to be a family of four! Thanks to everyone for your prayers and well wishes!”

The couple are already parents to their first son, Spurgeon, who is 14 months old.

Jessa said that this pregnancy involved way more morning sickness than her first pregnancy. Popcorn, chicken, and coffee were all things that made her feel sick.

“I’ve had way more food aversions,” she said. “We couldn’t even have them in the house.”

Jessa, 24 and Ben, 21, wed in 2014 and always voiced their excitement about having kids. They also suggested that adoption might be something they consider, in addition to natural birth.

There has been no name revealed for baby #2 as of yet, but with a big brother named Spurgeon, it’s hard to imagine it will be a traditional one!

Congratulations to Jessa, Ben, Spurgeon, and the newest Duggar-Seewald!
