NBA Superstar Attacked In Messy College Football Fight

Boston Celtics guard and NBA champion Derrick White found himself in an unexpected scuffle at a college football game in Colorado this past Saturday.

White, a proud alum of the University of Colorado, was attending the Buffaloes in-state showdown against Colorado State at Canvas Stadium when a melee broke out near the end zone, and he was drawn into it.

Sporting a Colorado football shirt, Whiteā€™s involvement in the altercation quickly went viral.

Footage shared by TMZ Sports shows White receiving what appears to be a backhanded slap before being pulled away from the chaotic scene.

In the video, someone is seen trying to keep White at bay, preventing him from escalating the situation further.

Despite the tension, White was later spotted attempting to diffuse the situation, walking toward the crowd and seemingly pulling people away from the fray.

However, he didnā€™t hold back from exchanging words with fans on the opposing side who were heckling the NBA veteran.

The altercation came just weeks after White was celebrated by his alma mater during Colorado’s season opener.

The Celtics star was honored for his recent accomplishments, which include capturing his first NBA championship in 2024 and earning a gold medal with Team USA at the Paris Summer Olympics.

White, who replaced Kawhi Leonard on the Olympic roster, helped Team USA secure a 98-87 victory over France in the gold medal game.

During the homecoming event, the crowd at Folsom Field gave White a standing ovation as highlights of his basketball career flashed on the stadiumā€™s screen.

His achievements over the summer, including being named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team, were celebrated by fans and his former university alike.

The seven-year NBA veteran was also the recipient of a massive five-year, $315 million contract extension with the Celtics this offseason, solidifying his place as one of the leagueā€™s top players.

White joins fellow Celtics stars Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis, all of whom have received multiyear extensions with the team over the past year.

White is arguably the most underrated player in the NBA. Despite Tatum and Brown receiving the vast majority of the attention, Boston wouldn’t have won the title last season if not for the vital contributions of White.

The ironic thing about the scuffle in Colorado is the fact that White is one of the calmest and most mild-mannered people you’ll find … It’s not like Draymond Green was out in the crowd.

What are your thoughts on the chaotic scene???
