Pro Bowl Star Breaks Silence On Interesting Taylor Swift Connection

Love it or hate it, musician Taylor Swift has become a part of the NFL world.

Despite Swift missing a few of her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s games this season, the couple are reportedly still going strong. (Although many are taking those reports with a grain of salt.)

Interestingly, Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift opened up this morning about what it’s like sharing a last name with the pop icon.

Swift, who joined the Bears in March on a three-year, $24 million deal after a breakout season with the Philadelphia Eagles, reflected on the newfound connection during an appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football.”

“It’s cool, you know what I mean?” Swift said. “I embrace it. I’ve seen everything evolve with the last name and Taylor and everything like that … It’s cool to me.”

In 2023, Swift rushed for 1,049 yards, scored five touchdowns, and earned his first Pro Bowl nod, solidifying himself as a rising star in the league.

Chicago saw Swift as a valuable addition to their backfield, particularly with rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, leading the team’s offense.

The running back acknowledged the increased attention Taylor Swift has brought to the NFL since her relationship with Kelce became public.

Her appearances at Chiefs games and viral moments on social media have sparked significant interest, attracting fans who may not have been typical NFL viewers.

The league has embraced the buzz, benefiting from record viewership and heightened visibility.

For D’Andre, the coincidence of sharing a last name with one of the world’s biggest pop stars is all in good fun. “I embrace it,” he reiterated.

For now, Swift is focused on carving out his own legacy on the field, while enjoying the light-hearted connection to Taylor that’s come his way.

What are your thoughts on all of the Taylor Swift hoopla in the NFL world? … Are you for it or against it?

Touching on actual football for a second, what is your early take on Caleb Williams and the Bears???
