Connor Stalions, the former Michigan football staffer at the center of the infamous 2023 sign-stealing controversy, is back in coaching – this time at the high school level.
After spending the regular season coaching Mumford High School in Detroit, Stalions has since joined the Belleville High School coaching staff.
What makes the situation fascinating is that Belleville, currently competing in the high school playoffs in Michigan, is led by the top recruit in the country – quarterback Bryce Underwood.
Adding extra intrigue is the fact that Sherrone Moore and Michigan are fighting hard to flip Underwood’s commitment from LSU to the Wolverines.
Despite the ugly end to Stalions’ tenure in Ann Arbor, anyone who’s watched his documentary on Netflix knows full-well that he will do anything in his power to help the Michigan football program.
Needless to say, Michigan fans are hoping their old friend will be able to convince Underwood to “do the right thing” and flip his commitment to the Wolverines.
Belleville’s head coach, Dejuan Rogers, confirmed the addition, explaining how Stalions came to join the Tigers’ staff.
“I called Coach Will (McMichaels) and asked him if he knew of any reliable help that could assist us during the playoffs and he recommended Connor,” Rogers told CBS Detroit.
Underwood, a 6-foot-3 five-star quarterback recruit and the top-ranked high school prospect in the nation, has already committed to LSU.
However, Michigan has been making a strong push to persuade him to flip his commitment from LSU to the Wolverines.
Reports indicate Michigan may consider a $10 million NIL offer as part of their recruitment efforts for the elite QB.
Stalions, meanwhile, is enthusiastic about his new role with Belleville.
“I’m grateful to be working with Coach Rogers, Coach Norman and the rest of the staff,” Stalions said. “There’s a very high expectation to win here at Belleville.
“All the players have responded very well to the quick adjustments we’ve made, and it’s fun working with them on a daily basis.”
This marks Stalions’ second high school coaching stint this season.
As alluded to, Stalions served as an assistant and coordinator at Mumford High School, though that team struggled, finishing the season with a 1-8 record.
Meanwhile, Belleville High School’s playoff ambitions are drawing significant attention – not only because of Underwood’s talent but also for Stalions’ potential role in Michigan’s recruitment efforts.

Do you think Stalions will be able to flip Underwood to Michigan???
