Deshaun Watson Finally Breaks Silence & Addresses His Critics

It’s no secret that the Cleveland Browns are in total football hell.

It’s a shame because Cleveland is a true football town, and their loyal fans deserve better. A whole lot better.

However, Jimmy Haslam’s outrageous decision to trade for Deshaun Watson and then ink him to a historic, $230 million fully-guaranteed contract set the franchise back several years. Maybe even a decade.

Other than quarterback, the Browns have a playoff roster. Perhaps even a Super Bowl roster. However, you’re going absolutely nowhere in the NFL if you don’t have a quarterback. And the Browns are going nowhere fast.

Kevin Stefanski has proven to be an elite coach. However, it’s sad to see him stand up at the podium and claim that he and the team still have all the confidence in the world in Watson.

We all know he’s taking orders from the top to stick with Watson due to the inexplicable investment they have in him.

This is the quickest way to lose a locker room in professional sports.

At 1-4, the path for the Browns won’t be getting any easier. They have to travel to Philadelphia to take on a well-rested Eagles team who are coming of their bye.

We all know the type of quarterback Watson used to be, from his Clemson and early Houston days. We also know the hideous off-field situation he brought upon himself.

The bottom line is his performance has fallen off a cliff. Sure, he’s battled injuries. However, there has been absolutely no signs that the old Deshaun Watson is ever coming back.

Watson was asked about all the daggers that have been fired his way.

“I don’t hear it. I don’t see it. I’m not on Twitter, not on social media,” Watson said. “It’s a new opportunity. It’s a new week. We know what we need to do internally… be the best I can be within the offense, within the team.”

Let’s just say it’s a good thing that Watson isn’t on social media…

Kickoff for Sunday’s Browns-Eagles game is scheduled for 1pm EST. What looked like a marquee matchup prior to the season now looks like a relative walk in the park for the Birds.

What are your thoughts on the ugly Watson situation? … What’s it going to take for Stefanski (Haslem) to actually bench him???
