Fresh off one of the biggest wins in program history, Ole Miss has scored a major recruiting victory, landing five-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham.

Cunningham, a native of Ackerman, Mississippi, is ranked as the No. 16 overall player and the No. 2 receiver in the 2025 class, per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Originally committed to Alabama, Cunningham announced that he has changed course, pledging his future to Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels.

The news broke via Hayes Fawcett of On3, who posted the announcement on social media, where Cunningham confirmed the switch with the phrase, “Home is home!” on his own account.

Cunningham had been committed to the Crimson Tide since July but ultimately chose to stay in-state. “Sip Made, Sip Stayed,” Cunningham added, expressing his excitement about playing for his home state Rebs.

The loss of Cunningham stings for Alabama, but the Crimson Tide remain well-positioned in the recruiting race, boasting the No. 2 class for 2025, just behind Ohio State, per 247Sports.

Meanwhile, Ole Miss’s ranking has climbed to No. 16 nationally, with Cunningham now their top recruit and only five-star commit for the class.

His addition also makes him the eighth-highest-rated recruit in school history.

Cunningham, who stands 6’3″ and weighs 190 pounds, joins Ole Miss alongside three-star receiver commits Dillon Alfred and Samari Reed.

His commitment represents a major victory for Kiffin and his staff, who remained persistent in their pursuit despite Cunningham’s earlier Alabama commitment.

Reflecting on his decision, Cunningham noted that Ole Miss never backed off, even after his initial commitment to Alabama.

“I actually feel good about Ole Miss,” he told Rivals in late October. “They haven’t stopped recruiting me since day one. They definitely show that they really want me. The coaching staff is telling me why I should come there. They have good reasons. They always tell me to stick to the facts. They’re also telling me I could start as a freshman.”

Gabe Brooks of 247Sports likened Cunningham’s athletic profile to LSU’s Kyren Lacy, noting that despite some questions about his speed and lateral movement relative to other top recruits, Cunningham still projects as “a high-major impact player with a long-term ceiling that could lead to NFL Draft consideration.”

With their massive victory over Georgia, their current placement in the CFB Playoff, and now a major recruiting pluck in Cunningham, it’s safe to say that times are good in Oxford right now.

What are your thoughts on Kiffin swiping Cunningham away from rival Alabama???
