At 89 years old, Lee Corso made a triumphant return to ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday morning, proving that age is just a number.
The legendary college football analyst, renowned for his colorful personality and iconic headgear picks, was flawless in his predictions during his 2024 debut.
That’s right … Although the beloved college football icon may have lost a few miles off his fastball, he still managed to be perfect with his Week 1 predictions.
Corso made nine game predictions during the show, and remarkably, he nailed every single one.
His most notable pick came when he correctly predicted Notre Dame’s victory over Texas A&M on the road. The Fighting Irish secured a 23-13 win at Kyle Field, validating Corso’s call.
Notably, none of the other GameDay analysts picked the underdog Irish.
In addition to Notre Dame, Corso was spot-on with his predictions for the other eight matchups.
Among those included Boise State over Georgia Southern (Boise State won 56-45), Vanderbilt over Virginia Tech (Vanderbilt won 34-27 in OT), Penn State over West Virginia (Penn State won 34-12), and Miami over Florida (Miami won 41-17).
Notably, Corso was the only College GameDay panelist to achieve a perfect record with his picks on Saturday.
Corso also shared his picks for the College Football Playoff. He predicted Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, and Notre Dame to reach the semifinals, with Ohio State ultimately winning the national championship.
The scene at Texas A&M on Saturday was absolutely wild. Unfortunately for the Aggies, the 12th Man wasn’t able to carry them to victory.
Next Saturday, College GameDay will broadcast live from Ann Arbor ahead of the massive Michigan-Texas showdown.
While on the topic of predictions, who do you think will win the title this season???
