NFL World Shocked At ESPN’s Inexplicable Aaron Rodgers Mistake

The San Francisco 49ers dominated the New York Jets 32-19 in last night’s Monday Night Football opener.

While the Jets welcomed back four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers, the 49ers proved once again why they are arguably the best team in the league.

The return of Rodgers was undoubtedly one of the biggest storylines heading into Week 1.

While he did flash his brilliant arm at times last night, it will understandably take Rodgers a few weeks to knock off the built-up rust.

The Jets hope they aren’t in too big of a hole by the time Rodgers regains his old form – assuming he does.

One thing is for sure, Gang Green won’t be going anywhere if their “elite” defense continues to play like they did last night.

Considering the fact that Rodgers is one of the biggest starts in all of sports to go along with ESPN’s hype-machine pumping up his return to the field, you would assume the Monday Night Football broadcast would have their ducks in a row.

Unfortunately, ESPN managed to make a major mistake and virtually the entire football world noticed it immediately.

Joe Buck introduced Rodgers back to the field while speaking over a graphic, stating: “Rodgers heads back to the field with his team – look at that smile, happy guy – leading by one.”

However, there was one painful mistake: ESPN misspelled Rodgers’ name on the graphic.

As we all know, the future Hall of Famer’s name is spelt “Rodgers” not “Rogers.”

Regardless, Rodgers had a successful debut for the simple reason that he made it through the game without injury. Of course, he’ll need to play better if he hopes to take the Jets on a deep playoff run.

Rodgers finished 13 of 21 passing for 167 yards, one touchdown and one unlucky interception.

What are your thoughts on ESPN’s mistake?

More importantly, what did you think of Rodgers’ performance.

He mentioned postgame that he hopes to play the 49ers again, hinting at a possible Super Bowl matchup … But are the Jets truly capable of going on such a run?

What’s your realistic prediction for Rodgers and Gang Green this season???
