The Las Vegas Raiders are experiencing a period of significant change as they look to stay competitive in the NFL landscape.
With a new head coach and general manager, the team has already made some big moves over the past several months.
One of the most high-profile changes came recently when it was announced that NFL icon Tom Brady had been officially approved as a minority owner of the Raiders.
While Brady’s current involvement with the team is limited due to specific stipulations, there is growing speculation that his role could expand over time.
According to a report by Albert Breer of TheMMQB, Brady’s presence is already expected to have a significant impact on the organization, particularly off the field.
“One NFC exec told me, via text Monday night, that he expects Brady’s presence will help the franchise with sponsors and season ticket holders, and in recruiting top talent to the organization on every level (including players),” Breer reported.
“Another NFC exec affirmed that, then added, ‘The most interesting thing to me is if he decides he wants to be involved in the team instead of broadcast… Maybe he gets more joy/juice out of running the Raiders than being on Fox.”
Breer also noted that Brady’s connection to the Raiders predates his formal ownership role.
Earlier in 2023, Brady attended a Raiders practice when Antonio Pierce was interim head coach, and Champ Kelly was interim GM. This visit raised speculation that the former quarterback may want to have a more hands-on role with team operations in the future.
“There’s been a belief internally for a while now that Brady won’t be a silent observer after officially getting his slice of the pie. Whether it happens now or a little further down the line, we’ll find out,” Breer added.
Brady, who famously won seven Super Bowl rings throughout his illustrious career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, brings unmatched football expertise to the table.
Should he choose to take a more active role in the Raiders’ day-to-day operations, his vast experience and insight could significantly influence the team’s success as they enter this new chapter.
Of course, his current role as lead NFL analyst for FOX Sports complicates matters. All of this begs the question: Would Brady be willing to cut his broadcasting career short in order to have a more active role with the Raiders?
While he insists that he’s enjoying his new football life at FOX, do you think Brady ends up ending the experiment early so he can work with the Raiders on an everyday basis???
